Hi Paul,

depends what you are after mate, there's loads of good (and bad) bars, retaurants etc. Grill on the Alley is great for steaks etc http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=grill+on+the+alley&rls=com.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7ADBF_en-GB&redir_esc=&ei=bygwTcW1OoHNjAfDu4nVCg

It's a sister of The Smithfield, Farringdon.

For up market try Michael Caines nr Piccadilly Station http://www.michaelcaines.com/restaurants/manchester but you may need to book.

Picadilly Gardens has several nice restaurants.

If it's curry you want, go to Rusholme. Curry Mile (as we call it) has a plethora of curry houses.

For bars, I'd look around Deansgate

http://www.manchesterbars.com/location-northernquarter.htm It certainly isn't the most popular area for Mancs, still quite a run down part of the City, bars are quite pretentious, expensive (by Manchester standards).

Quote from a Manc "I'd go to Cord, Simple, Blue or Trof. Walrus has been full of wankers everytime I've been in."

Castlefield, to the south of Deansgate is quite nice, my favourite bar is Dukes right by the canal http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?rls=com.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox&oe=UTF-8&rlz=1I7ADBF_en-GB&redir_esc=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=dukes+manchester&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=dukes&hnear=Manchester,+Greater+Manchester&cid=2237443769056011111

    • Hi Merry Christmas no joy with that Paul Hackett email thanks
    • Miss Robson is the last of the old school independent vets. All the chains are have seriously hiked their prices over the last few years which now makes pet ownership only possible for the wealthy few. Even with pet insurance -( which often excludes items or has ‘deductibles’ ) it is just so much money. A visit with some medication is often £150 - £200. The vets themselves are excellent.
    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
