This is completely true - visiting Kings' maternity ward, got chatting to the mother of lovely newborn twins, named Giorgio and Armani. Years later at the playground at Brockwell Park, heard those names being called out to each other on the swings and saw them as 5/6 year olds! Fabulous.
Sheridan was a girl I used to know so I am surprised to see it as a male name. I like the way Scots, Irish and Welsh names are popular in their respective countries. I think the rise in the No of Jacks, Harrys, Mabels, Rubys, Henrys, Ethels, etc, could be a similar occurrence in England.

I can believe the story, but I went to school (year below) with one of his sons (no idea if he has more than one), and his name was Bill.

Maybe he meant platospaghetti.

I've known a couple of Beverley (males) both would now be between 60 and 90 suggesting that it was a bloke's name. What a great term bloke is, and geezer too. They'd make great names.

Mate was dog sitting for 'Scrotum' and 'Retch' walking around the park shouting their names. John Seldom Gummer called his dogs Saddam and soemthing like Tariq (it wasn't Tariq but another henchman)

    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
