Only Theresa May could actually arrive at "the worst of all worlds"

She surpasses herself :)

If this is true and there are the numbers, then she will have to face a vote of no confidence...

She would win it as there simply aren't enough Brextremists to defeat her, but the much bigger problem she could face is if they then start voting against her in the HoC. Labour have already said that the Chequers deal doesn't pass their tests. The big irony in all this is that the Brextremists are now relying on the EU to reject the deal...

I wish to pay tribute to David Davis. He was a fine man and saved many goals for us Welsh back in the 80s when he was known as Dai. His political career however, did not match his goal keeping.

I'm sure he'll now travel out to Russia to give his much needed advice to the England team and as a Welshman I appreciate that.

there is no principle at stake here except some analogue of a dr. strangelove plan for self preservation and the procreation of the species in their own selfish likeness. No one here has the good of the people of this country at heart. laid bare before us - but will we take note or dismiss is as more theatre and turn our back on further political involvement?

The rats in my shed have more honour than these people

All the wailing and gnashing of teeth from Brexiters is quiet breathtaking. They won the vote to leave the EU and it looks like that's what's going to happen. Still they're not happy. Are there any circumstances at all under which they would be placated I wonder?

For many of them I doubt. The vitriol and hatred on social media is astonishing.

Now, I know that?s Twitter etc, and not to be taken entirely seriously, but I do feel it?s noteworthy how many people see this as a deliberate attempt by May to destroy Brexit.

Personally I think they?re deluding themselves on many levels, but I wouldn?t ignore them. Right now there seems to be a lot of anger; mostly to me it shows just how many people are willing to crash out on a hard Brexit? As well as demonstrating the folly of letting each individual think they can define Brexit.

    • For the North Cross Rd one, other than this post on the day,  the only sign I saw was a few papers on lampposts saying no parking due to an event.  It didn't say what the event was. On the day at around 1.45pm all the parked cars were still there and there was just 1 unusual stall (an info stand about a children's activity group).
    • Hope all the ‘high streets for people’ events went well! Very short notice probably for people living in the area and on a very hot day!  James McAsh just doesn’t know what to do next with Southwark Council Tax payers money. He advocates the few streets in the area that has a bus service and then shuts the routes down! Very annoying for people who want to go about their daily business and have already had restrictions brought in by McAsh.
    • Thank goodness for Greg. I had an awful situation whereby I was notified that water was leaking from my flat into the flat below me. I was 150 miles away at the time and had a panicked journey home not knowing what I was going to face.   I called Greg (after seeing reviews on the forum) as soon as I arrived home in the evening and he arrived just after 10pm and was able to shut off the problem. He had to come back to finalise the job which turned out to be caused in a communal area whereby there was a blockage in the stack pipe.   Greg worked quickly, efficiently and informed me every step of the way as to what he was doing and why. He also cleaned up really well afterwards.  Greg's charges are very reasonable and he will definitely be my "go-to" if I have any other plumbing issues in the future.
