Blackout blinds/curtains

I think we need to move our baby boy to a different room. He turns five months in a few days so I think he is ready for the move. I know I am as I am getting very little sleep with the cot right next to me. Only room available is the spare room which is at the back of the house and gets all the morning sun. There is a curtain with blackout lining on the window but it is letting a lot of light through the top and sides.

Are there any blackout blinds or curtains or anything like that locally? I saw a product on the JoJo website that looks promising but seems expensive. Has anyone used it?

we have used baa baa blackout blind for over two years now - it is a portable one so you can also take it on hols etc

We had a gro-anywhere, which was great, but now have proper backed curtains from John Lewis which have that fab 'blackout' effect too.

I got black out blinds from the John Lewis website. You can get either made to measure or in standard sizes.

I have a gro blind (new name for baa baa blind) for sale if you're interested. It's brand new. We have one for each of our daughters rooms (they're brilliant). John Lewis sent me an extra one then let me keep it because I had loads of problems with a monitor I bought from them. We use it as well as a blackout blind and stops the extra cracks getting through.

On http://www.easyblindsonline.co.uk/ you can get blackout blinds that attach to the window frame with velcro which avoids the problem of light flooding through on the sides. I bought one for my baby's bedroom but have not fitted it yet. Using gro anywhere at the moment but it does not fit very well, still letting in a lot of light.

We've gone low-tech and stuck binliners to the half of the window nearest bugglet's cot, as a temp solution it's fantastic!

I like the look of the easy blinds - good reviews on Amazon as well. Think may order those. THanks everyone

The easy blinds are brilliant - they kept my son's room cooler over the summer too. Only downside is the hassle of taking them on and off if you want any daylight during the day!
