Jules-and-Boo
That commercialism gives me feelings of dread....a bit like being on a treadmill...one big 'event' after another, that are supposed to define our lives - at a certain standard and at a certain cost. Can we just not talk about Christmas yet please?I like it - but just not yet. dbboy
Last Friday in DKH Sainsbury's, they had already cleared top shelves of usual products (relegated to lowest shelve) in the cake isle and replaced with Christmas goods ALREADY. It's only September, commercialisation gone stark raving mad. Does anyone buy Christmas products this early???????? adonirum
Whilst we were "up t'north" during the summer, mrs. adonirum went into a store (a branch of a chain) in a small market town over in Lincolnshire and came out and told me that not only were the shelves being stacked with Xmas crap, but also that one young lad was putting up Xmas decorations (and seemed rather embarrassed at having to do so).....the date...........Wednesday 23rd August!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Robert Poste's Child
I wore the gloves with fingers today rather than the fingerless ones. Also got long socks + Docs on but feet still feel cold. Considering hats. Robert Poste's Child
Keep finding huge, meaty spiders indoors. One of the downsides of living alone is knowing you have to deal with this yourself, particularly having to catch it and take it outside rather than hoovering it up or whacking it with a boot. Self-judgement going on on several levels. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/166601-signs-summers-over/page/2/#findComment-1178557 Share on other sites
