Hi

When my daughter was six months old. I sent her photo to a few agencies. Norrie Carr wanted her and took pictures for free there was no joining fee. Although if you want to renew after a year you have to pay ?70 for new photos. We got plenty of work but here's where the good experiences ended. I found the agency rude if I couldn't make an audition, they expected me to turn up the day after a phone call and change any other plans. When I didn't want her in a particular advert for SMA they thought I was being ridiculous. The model almost dropped my baby in a cover shoot. There's lots of waiting around at shoots very boring. She got paid up to six months after the job. The only good thing is the pay which we put in her child trust fund. But I couldn't take longer than 6 months as I was pregnant and it would be almost impossible to do with 2 children to look after. To top it off they still kept calling me months after I'd told them I couldn't do it anymore.

Hi, no experience of my own child being used but as a photographers agent have booked children for ad campaigns. Personally it's not for me and I think you have to consider your childs personality before putting them forward. As Olga found it's good money but ruthless, boring and to be honest not everyone cares that much about whether your child is having a great day as it's all about getting the shot.

Yes you may have to contribute towards getting up to date head shots as your child changes but you shouldn't have to pay a joining fee.

If you really want to pursue this avenue here's a few of the childrens model agencies we've used....

    • I'm utterly baffled as to why anybody thinks this is newsworthy, let alone worth a front page. The economy has barely grown for 20 years and the housing crisis has been worsening for a similar time period. Note to any journalists on the forum: maybe focus your headlines on important issues.
    • Two wrongs might not make a right. But the two wrongs could at least be of equal value before we get too judgey    paying an estate agent to deal with all of the admin on my to have the estate agent not point out all of the admin  vs Deliberately hacking into an MPs email. And boasting about it (Badenoch)    as for throwing a local estate agent under the bus, when did local estate agents become the good guys?   doesn’t sound like estate agents are being thrown under a bus - they are fessing up. • Now who might that be?
    • Harvey and Wheeler in Dulwich Village? Only one I know… How can they offer to apply and never did? Surely; whether they are managing the property or not and with tech been so advanced I would have thought they would have been a couple of e mails sent as a reminder or, is it the Landlord’s responsibility to apply… Rental Law/ Bill has just come  into force  - can’t remember if it was this week or last and have been to busy to read.. However, will as assume it is not individual councils but all councils. Came up on Which on line.. Good point Jen Jen Jen - sure some knowledgable person on here can throw more light than I.
