DJKillaQueen
It's not unusual for a council or a company to check that their material is being delivered. They pay for the deliveries so there's an interest in making sure they are delivered. The Hi-Viz jackets are what sound strange to me. Did the hi-viz jackets have Southwark Council written on them? And did they have ID. If they were legit they certainly would have had ID. Best to call Southwark Council to confirm if they had anyone in the area today. Also what were they asking you to sign? Did you read it? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17056-possible-scam-alert/#findComment-432351 Share on other sites
DonGee
why would it need 2 men to obtain a signature - surely they would split up in order to cover the road/area quicker. It'd be interesting to know if this is legit. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17056-possible-scam-alert/#findComment-432355 Share on other sites
boomerang
Why not contact SE22 mag and ask if they have contracted a company to undertake this task?? That way you'll know Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17056-possible-scam-alert/#findComment-432359 Share on other sites
Festival Fair
I run SE22 and I do ask them to do back checks if someone who usually gets the mag says they haven't received. Sorry if this has caused a problem but I do appreciate when people can confirm they got it. If you have any issues please feel free to email at [email protected] Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17056-possible-scam-alert/#findComment-432360 Share on other sites
Alan Medic
It needs two people to do that? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17056-possible-scam-alert/#findComment-432362 Share on other sites
first mate
Hi Angels,Thanks for replying. I guess what foxed me is that they were asking for a signature. I would have thought a simple check against my address would've sufficed? If they are professional then they would not fiddle the numbers. edcam
They certainly should't be asking for a signature, no way. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17056-possible-scam-alert/#findComment-432376 Share on other sites
