Desperate for a brilliant curry takeway - help

The Dulwich Tandoori is currently the Curry Clubs favourite for dining-in. They seemed to have plenty of deliveries going out of the door when we were there last week.

Yes. Our last visit was somewhat disappointing. The food was OK but not the expected great and the price was way over the top. In the past Tandoori Nights have been more expensive but that bit better. Not so with our last visit.

Would echo MP's view of Tandoori Nights

I've been going there for 12 years and last few visits have been significantly worse than previously. Lukewarm bhajis, dull sauces with lack of heat regardless of what's ordered.

I went to Jaflong on Sunday night. First time since it first opened. The food was delicious and the service exemplary but I woke up in the early hours with an upset stomach.

Tandoori Nights was great when it first opened - many moons ago .....

Judging by my last visit there (recently), it's now absolutely rubbish.

Main course described on the menu as "with green chillies" arrived without a hint of chilli, green or otherwise, and totally bland.

Cobra six pounds a bottle. Six pounds!!!

Nobody came to ask us how our food was (we would have told them!!!!) during our meal, despite the fact the place was empty (not suprised), then they expressed surprise when we crossed off the "service" charge.

New owners, new chef, who knows. Absolutely dire.

Won't go back. Ever.

Yeah, I went off Tandoori Nights a couple of years ago. Bland and overpriced. Not been back since.

It's a shame- I would've thought with the abundance of curry houses on LL it would drive quality up and prices down, but nothing seems that much better than average. My picks are surma and Dulwich tandoori but neither is particularly excellent. If pushed I'd say Surma was the best if only for their chicken jalfrezi.
