Most of you seem to hate the Vale, I disagree.

I went on Saturday for the semi final and it was excellent - they probably have more TVs and sight lines to them than anywhere.

I was there for 5 and got a table right in front of the TV, but could probably have left it a little longer before arriving. Come 7.30 it was jam packed throughout and the atmosphere all through was excellent - a bit like watching in your front room but having a real crowd behind you.

Maybe you'll see me on their TV come Saturday, I won't be watching it in ED!

On the one or 2 occcasions I've seen footy there it has been great, I can't deny it. There are however plenty of other reasons to hate it, the owner/manager being high on that list.

Hey, i work at the Magdala...

(yes that bright yellow one that nobody really ventures to!)

However, we have 2 plasmas, and a pull down big screen, downstairs

and have the second bar upstairs with a plasma too.

whatever you think of the place, we were so busy last saturday that the bouncers had to turn people away, there was a fantastic atmosphere, and it is a particularly great place to watch any sport...

the only tables you can reserve are the 3 booths, however they have been reserved for 3 weeks!!

if you get there early you will have your pick of seats!

hope that helps!

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you.
