James
May I suggest that any yummy mummy wishing to dispose of some of her husband's bonus buying stupid trinkets from these stupid stupid shops should spend it on me instead? Thanks. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1732-sugar-new-shop/#findComment-48207 Share on other sites

Spangles30
Snorky????Where is Moo? It rings a bell. I doubt I have ever been in there - or maybe I have! is it that shop next to Healthmatters which sells toddler T-shirts for ?18 a time? Mellors
I haven't actually been in there in all fairness. Which makes me wonder who on earth actually does, given that I have had beggar all else to do for the last year I have been on maternity leave other than spending my husband's money. Who IS buying their tat then? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1732-sugar-new-shop/#findComment-48221 Share on other sites
Spangles30
No, it's such a pointless shop, IMO snorky. And I have been in there, but as is always the case with shops like this (and ED in Northcross Rd is another dire example of a shop selling pointless plastic tat) I just browse due to boredom and NEVER buy. Give me a vintage or second hand shop any day.I am concerned that this new shop 'Sugar' is going to be yet another trinket shop; still, beats another estate agent I suppose.I have a vested interest now I am not moving from ED. Nobody seems prepared to pay the exorbitant cost that my house is going for - and I can't blame 'em. *Bob*
I've bought something in there. But I did need it so I feel I am excused.*cowers* Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1732-sugar-new-shop/#findComment-48223 Share on other sites
Spangles30
I really liked the toddler t-shirts I saw hanging in Moo's window - with prints of Blondie and The Clash on 'em. However, I almost collapsed on hearing that they cost ?18, and I made a swift exit from the shop! snorky
stardust at Herne HIll Station is a better bet for outrageous toddlers stuff and kitsche rubbishapparently Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1732-sugar-new-shop/#findComment-48231 Share on other sites
Spangles30
Think I'll stick to second hand stuff for said toddler snorky, although thanks for the herne Hill recommendation.Bob, what did you buy in Moo? And did it cost an arm and a leg? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1732-sugar-new-shop/#findComment-48232 Share on other sites
*Bob*
I bought a Tivoli PAL to replace one which is on 'permanent loan'. I use 'em for work.Same price as elsewhere so no need to beat myself up. Though naturally I covered my face on the way out in case anyone saw me. Spangles30
Hm, well I guess that's OK then Bob. I have never bought anything from that shop, and nor will I! *Bob*
But surely you need to go back to buy one of those 'Aerolatte' mini-whisks, don't you? It would fit nicely at the back of your kitchen cupboard - behind the useful stuff. Spangles30
Bob, I don't 'do' mini-whisks!! Anyway, I am sure the shop does well, or it wouldn't still be there. So obviously SOMEONE is buying stuff in there. I guess it's the 'anti chain shop brigade. *Bob*
This is no ordinary mini-whisk, Spangles. It's "a steam-free milk frother" which "takes just 20 seconds to turn a small amount of hot or cold milk into a perfect froth"Can you imagine doing such a thing of an afternoon? Couldn't your time be put to better use? (Like, say, slamming your fingers in the fridge door several times and then tipping a bowl of jelly on your head?) Spangles30
Hilarious Bob. Yes I'll take the slamming my fingers in the fridge and tipping a bowl of jelly over my head option.Anyway, my coffee machine froths milk, though I never bother with it.I believe Moo also has Alessi products; in my opinion garish plastic tat from Italy at huge cost.
