Just heard a thing on the radio about a new celebrity diet trend, for eating jars of baby food. It's being suggested that soe women may be going down this route, in order to look like their idols.

When our little one was on baby food, the very smell made me gag, whether or not the diet is wise (it isn't), how can these people physicaly swallow that muck?!?!?

I guess it depends on the baby food. Ella's kitchen's smoothies (the ones without vegetables in) sound nice. But I remember getting our son a jar of cow and gate pasta sauce (or similar) and he refused to eat it. "look, daddy thinks it's yummy" - I take a mouthful, retch, and agree to give him ricecakes instead.

The savoury stuff .... bleugh.

Perhaps it's the medicine principle of 'it tastes vile, it must be doing me good'.

However, before Twosling graduated to mashed fruit he had lots of those Ellas mixed fruit pouches... mmm, banana & apple, mmm blueberry... they were definitely 'one for you, one for Mummy'!

When I was about 12 and had a fresh batch of siblings arrive, I remember having a heavy milupa orange ready-brek-style-thing habit for quite a while. Yummm

But really when I read "celebrity diet trend" you could have put ANY words after it and I wouldn't have batted an eyelid. "Martian (NOT Venetian!) female pituitary cream you say? I can believe that"

I must admit that some nights I go down the 'one spoon for baby, one spoon for mama' route with the Hipp Organic Vege Lasagne/ Spag bol/ chicken risotto - it just saves me making myself a meal (or keeps me going long enough to get the kids in bed). Pathetic but true.

I also love the Organix baby crisps. Yum....

    • Hi Merry Christmas no joy with that Paul Hackett email thanks
    • Miss Robson is the last of the old school independent vets. All the chains are have seriously hiked their prices over the last few years which now makes pet ownership only possible for the wealthy few. Even with pet insurance -( which often excludes items or has ‘deductibles’ ) it is just so much money. A visit with some medication is often £150 - £200. The vets themselves are excellent.
    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
