We?ve got an albino squirrel visiting our garden near the junction of East Dulwich Grove and Dulwich Village. At first I thought it was the rarer black eyed leucistic variety but no, this one definitely has red eyes.

I remember seeing one in Ruskin Park on a few occasions more than 20 years ago but never before around here.

Where I worked in Love Walk Camberwell, our offices were built around a large garden and for several years we had a white squirrel living there. we named him Albie and colleagues regularly put out nuts etc for him as the other squirrels used to bully him. We hoped he/she would find a partner and were delighted when we saw him/her running and playing with another squirrel. He disappeared for some time, and we looked in the gardens of D' Crespigney Road in case he had moved 'house'.
I'm amazed, if he's a descendant of the white squirrel from Ruskin park. My 4 year old daughter (at the time) 25 yr ago loved to see the little chap and I'd give her monkey nuts to give him, she was always excited to find him. I'm sure I have photos some where.

Photos and report of the white squirrel of Dulwich in the newspapers today.

I remember seeing one regularly near the duck pond in Ruskin Park over 16 years ago. Was on the way to the one o'clock club (now Ruskin one o'clock club sadly closed) but he/she was a character then!

    • I'm getting dozens of fliers a year from all the estate agents.  I'm not selling, thinking of selling or renting out. The one from John D Woods really got my goat as it is plastic coated so can't even be recycled.  I've emailed them.  They must be making so much money to to these mass mail outs.  I couldn't find the old thread about things that put you into an irrational rage (although this rage is not irrational) I have a nice time too watching GB win their first medal at the Winter Olympics - that is an understatement! I'll burn it, sod the tiny impact on air quality.
    • @PenguinYou will have to explain this to me bearing in mind your and others outrage at a possible new scheme on Ryedale, and the use by many on this forum of Southwark News to support their reaction. I don't know what precautionary mindset means.  The precautionary principle is that we need to act now for example in tackling climate change rather than wait twenty years for conclusive evidence (that was the situation in 2006 when Stern published his report) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stern_Review
