I would also like to recommend Dave Bassom after reading posts on here we asked him to come aand fit our carpets a few weeks ago. He came on a weekend which was very convenient and fitted the carpets with minimal fuss and for a very competitive price.

Another vote for Dave Bassom on 07867 974124. Came when he said he would, did a good job and much cheaper than getting it through the big carpet companies who are cheap for carpet but Dave supplies much cheaper underlay. Highly recommended!

I would like to highly recommend Dave the carpet fitter. He done an absolute brilliant job this weekend fitting my carpet. He was on time cheerful, polite and carried out his work fantastically.

The carpet looks great! Excellent job and a nice person not to mention tidied everything up after.

Thank you Dave( from Fatima) I will definitely use him again.

Phoned Dave Bassom carpet fitter last Thursday 13/01/22,recommended on EDF. Dave agreed to call Friday PM 14/01/22.

Dave arrived at 2PM, as agreed and measured for my carpet and underlay requirements. I Ordered Friday PM from Online carpets. All in stock delivered Tuesday AM. Phoned Dave, who lucky for me had a cancellation, as carpet for his client had not been delivered. Dave said he could do the job the following day. Wednesday 19/01/22,today.

Dave called at 10.AM fitted underlay and carpet for hallway and sitting room.

He did an absolutely fabulous job at an incredibly reasonable price.

If you need any carpets fitted, "Forget the rest use the best"

Unbelievably bad experience using Dave to fit a carpet. He says he ripped the carpet while fitting it but I think he must have cut it wrong. So I now have an untidy join in it. He cut his finger and left blood over my bathroom floor and a blood stained tissue in my front garden. My door is now harder to close as he put the edging too close to the door. And there’s a bulge in the carpet where it hasn’t been fitted properly.
We had new carpets and vinyl flooring in the bathroom fitted on our 3 bedroom hourse by Dave last week and he did a superb job at a really reasonable price! There was lots of heavy furniture to lift, which we had promised would be gone, but Dave was fine about it and didn't charge us extra. The finish of the stairs is excellent and we managed to get rid of an unsightly bar that John Lewis had fitted with the previous carpets. Really skilled and professional and so quick. Highly recommend! Dave's Mobile is 07867 974 124

would like to add another recommendation for Dave. He fitted a new stair runner for me. He showed up on time, was speedy and did a really nice job. Problem solved a couple of issues. Really happy with the end result and his pricing is very competitive too.Β

Dave responded immediately to my contacting him and was able to come and do the job within a week .

It was fitting two offcuts of sisal ( or similar) in a hall.Β

I thought he wouldn't be interested as other carpet fitters didn't want to do the job.Β

He did a great job, very reasonable charge.Β

Great guy.

    • There are two causes for this problem Β  The first is that modern safety requirements for cars (to protect pedestrians and cyclists in collisions) mean huge amounts of excess spacing in crumple zones to provide a cushion on impact. For example, in the past a lot of pedestrians suffered catastrophic head injuries when they ran in front of a car, because the bonnet was close to the engine block, so their heads bent the bonnet into the solid immovable engine and their heads cam off worse. To mitigate that there is now a huge amount of flex and space so that the head is cushioned from the engine. Naturally, the rest of the body work and car frame has had to increase to accommodate this safety measure. Β  The second issue is electrification. Β  Electric cars are massive because they have to carry huge batteries around to make them work. Massive amounts of space and height is given over to batteries in electric cars. The new electric Renault 5 (described as a "compact" hatch back) is nearly 4 metres long 2 metres wide.Β  Β  That makes it longer and wider than the original Range Rover.Β
    • Pretentious status vehicles.Β  Last year I was trying to drive down my own street but, being in a little, inferior car, was expected to make way for a stream of SUVs / Chelsea tractors as they barged along beside me. After what felt like an age, I saw a window of opportunity, but was beaten to it by yet another tank. By this stage I was irate (I hate the things) and having a full on shouting match with myself behind the wheel.Β  A Tesla in the oncoming queue pulled in, flashed and courteously allowed me to take my moment. The Tesla's windows were tinted, but not so much that I wasn't able to make out the driver, as I passed him. I'd recognise that mega-watt smile anywhere. It was Peter Crouch, laughing and giving me the thumbs up, clearly entertained by my tantrum.Β
    • I recently had a utility room built, next to the kitchen. Dean Richards and his team carried out the works, they did a fantastic job. Thorough, with attention to every detail.Β  If you are considering an extension, refurbishment or renovation, Dean comes highly recommended.Β  Dean RichardsΒ  07888 651798 Β
