OK, Ive just watched highlights of Miami Dulphins v New York Giants And I had to look around to remind my self where I was. I could be forgiven for thinking I was in a hotel room somewhere in the States watching the American ESPN Channel. Is there anyone else who thinks its an odd idea to have NFL games at the home of FOOTBALL!!!?? I feel that we as a nation have been very open and accomedating to our friends across the pond. But do we not have to drew the line somewhere are we loosing what it means to be Americans,,,,,I mean British??

Gooner your right. There is nothing we can do about it! Look I can just about understand if it was an exibition match to promote the game and give NFL sapporter in this country a taste. But it wasnt. this was a proper NFL game for there league! THERE league! I could understand if it was two of our teams playing there! But it wasnt. There now thinking of having regular games there! I would be interested to hear what American sapporters over the pond think? I mean can you ever imagin having a Premiership Darby, Say Liverpool v Man utd in the states? there would be Many Upset fans surely??
What about the integrety of the NFL? If I was a Miami Dulphins fan, I would be offended that thay play away from home to seek support from elsewhere and to make an extra buck or two. Of course poeple will enjoy the experience. But in terms of a permanant fixture. Im not so sure

Their loss is our gain.

I'm sure most English fans would be livid.. but I don't know if American fans would feel the same.

An NFL 'away game' would involve an aeroplane trip anyway half the time anyway - so why not London?

Americans are used to watching games on the goggle-box as much as English fans (who can't afford to see live matches) are.

Add to all this the number of Americans in the UK.. and the American fascination with 'Historic London' and it seems like a goer.

This is all a bit nuts. People on the radio were gushing about the chance that one day that Superbowl XXVVIIIVMMetc will be hosted here and maybe the Premier League and Champions League playing games over there.

Have any of the morons coming up with these ideas heard of global warming?

And as for the integrity of the NFL? The teams are all franchises which can relocate when attendances drop. There's no relegation or promotion, new teams are invented when someone comes up with the cash so it's all about money and has been since way before our Soccerball got it's cash engines all fired up.

We should give the US Real Tennis and Darts.

OK well why stop at America. Lets take Premiership games to India. And the Ashes to Japan. Why is that this game has got such a high profile? Its not about The love of the game. I just think its a shame for sport Everywhere. I feel that this is now the begginning of the end. I feel that sport in general is being taken away from us, bit by bit. How good does it feel when your team is winning? How long will it be before we stop enjoying sport for what it is or WAS?

the way they,re playing it will be a very long time indeed, relegation material at the moment.

As an aside, one of the players, lef-back Channing Crowder, confessed that he didn't know where London was, and nor that people who live in London speak English. Doh!

it's true:

Ha Ha.. excellent

"Which country should we invade next?"

"Korea"

"Why Korea"

"They're trouble"

"What's troubling about them?"

"It's just.. their attitude"

I expect there's probably a video of UK dopes not knowing who Shakespear is somewhere..

Or indeed people out there who don't know there's an 'e' on the end of 'Shakespear'

really? But how quick we assume it's true! Loads of US news networks picked up on it too ...

Simon, are you being just a bit prejudice?

Ivemet, why beat around the bush. Why not just put up a sign which reads...."Americans, keep out?" Why did you watch the NFL highlights if the idea was so misconceived. By the way, 'their' league and 'they're' thinking, and 'accommodating' is the correct spelling.

Keep your hair on gerry.

I quite enjoyed this article as I was curious what the thoughts were on the other side of the pond.

Clearly everyone's allowed a bit of prejudice, as I go back to watching my Benny Hill repeats...

    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
    • When I have more time and energy, I will look up the actual number of votes cast for each party in that election, rather than the number of seats won. I'm interested to see that you apparently  think that  Boris Johnson did a good job of "leading the country through Covid." Is your memory really that short? I won't stoop to calling Johnson and his cronies names in the way that you seem to think is appropriate for left wing politicians. At least the left wing politicians have some semblance of morals and a concern for people who aren't in some over privileged inner circle and/or raking in money for themselves on the back of an epidemic. I'm not going to open a can of worms on here  by commenting on the disgraceful so called "purge".
