Hi all,

Going to be a warm next few days and thought I would explore the new water play area at brockwell lido.

Just wondering if it is located next to the kids playground at the opposite side of the park to the lido? Is the 37 still the best way to get there from east Dulwich?

How are you finding it? Ok in the am before it gets too crowded?

Any views appreciated as keen to try it.

Thanks

We went on Saturday and it was lots of fun....we drove and parked on Brailsford Road near one of the gates

If you are getting the No 37 I recommend getting off at the stop just before you turn right at Carper Right towards Brixton...(i.e a few stops on from the Lido) I think that entrance to the park is probably the closest to the paddling pools

Bring a bucket/water container for your little ones to fill up from the tap/springs

Thanks very much for this info. This will really help for tomorrow. Good tip on the parking indiana...as wasnt sure if it was all resident only parking (like the other side near the lido...sounds like they are less strict that side of the park). Also good to know which end of the park it is if we do the bus.

Cheers guys.

Yes - I agree those traffic wardens are ruthless- I was back late by 6min once due to a disaster nappy when at the lido recently and got stung for 40quid- ouch. They had not even printed the ticket when i arrived ( but apparently had submitted the details) so they said they could not reverse it! Anyway that's another topic for a thread on this discussion board ....

Cheers for warning though- can't let our guard down.

anyone wondering what all the fuss is about, here's the design plans

Took the mocklet down there on sunday and he had an absolute whale of a time!! A really well thought out space (and a stone's thrown from the pub for a parental refresher afterwards.

    • You literally just edited your earlier reply to remove the point you made about it being “politicians”.  Then you call me pathetic.    I’m  not trying to say you approve any of the ugly right wing nonsense.  But I AM Saying your earlier post suggesting  violent rhetoric being “left wing” was one-sided and incorrect
    • I never said that. Saying I don’t like some of the rhetoric coming from the left doesn’t mean I approve of Farage et al saying that Afghans being brought here to protect their lives and thank them for their service means there is an incalculable threat to women.    Anything to score a cheap point. It’s pretty pathetic.
    • To be fair we are as hosed as the majority of other countries post-Covid. The problem is Labour promised way too much and leant in on the we need change and we will deliver it and it was clear to anyone with a modicum of sense that no change was going to happen quickly and actually taking the reigns may have been a massive poison- chalice. As Labour are finding to their cost - there are no easy answers.  A wealth tax seems straightforward but look how Labour have U-turned on elements of non-dom - why? Because the super rich started leaving the country in their droves and whilst we all may want them to pay more tax they already pay a big chunk already and the government saw there was a problem.
    • You don’t think there are right-wing politicians fanning this with rhetoric? Really?
