Sounds familiar and possession counts for nothing at the end of the day.

The team that takes it chances wins and many teams suffer from believing in the new management mantras of "Possession football" and "the team that passes the ball best, blah blah blah" which are the top managerial misconceptions of the moment.

Wenger, Benitez, and Mowbray too, are the main culprits I can think of in thinking that you can win a game without remembering that the point of the game is to create genuine chances and score goals.

Don't think I've ever seen ManU with such a good shot to goals ratio. Harry was complaining afterwards about the athmosphere in the ground. How that inhibited Spurs I'm not sure but he seemed to think so.

Manchester United had five shots off target and two shots on target and scored twice, both from outside the box. Two very good finishes I might add. Similarly we had two on target and six off target. We didn't take our chances and they did.

I'm not too bothered though. It's no disgrace to go out of a competition at the quarter-final stage at Old Trafford. Perhaps, now we can concentrate more on cementing a top four finish and maybe a good run in the FA Cup.
