I think the pitch is now a lot better since they've added synthetic fibres into the grass. I am sure the England players said it was much improved when they played on it a few weeks ago.

Wilshere's spokesman said: 'Jack Wilshere was arrested by police in the early hours following a fracas but was released on bail later.

'The police have made it very clear that he is an important witness to the incident and played the role of peacemaker and is unlikely to face any charges as a result.

Of all the places to start a brawl he had to do it outside the Daily Mail offices for them to capture it all on CCTV... I suppose he was just a quiet Jack the lad before he was called up to England squad and mixed with likes of Gerrard, Cashley, Frank, Rooney & JT ;-)

It's an innocent enough phrase used many times at various managers what with transfer deadline looming. Honest 'Arry just had the hump coz they'd lost to Wigan otherwise I think he'd have behaved like a gentleman.

If I was walking down LL on a Saturday night and had a bunch of people throw cans of (oooh I dunno, G&T) over me and my missus and someone (maybe you Matthew?) interevened to balance the situation would I say you were starting a fight?

We don't know all the details on this one yet but from what we do know it sounds like people are rushing to condemn him for the wrong reasons. He's no Anderson smashing his own car after a late nite club is he?

No smoke without fire I think is what people were saying when Gerrard was arrested last year - just balancing the books ;-)
