Calm down dear, you are such a sensitive soul.

I posted on this originally because (maybe slightly naively) I was a bit surprised that they would base this part of the operation in London and the overall size of the operation - overheads on rent, rates and salary alone are of the order of ?3.5m (plus). Scary what goes on in the background of a football club.

....two elephants walk off a cliff......

Personally for me, I'd be quite annoyed with my club if they did that. Irrespective of your locality, football clubs should be local institutions providing jobs etc, for those in the surrounding area. I know that when Liverpool were looking at the new stadium a big fuss was made when it was mentioned that the builders would be from a company that wasn't local. I know it's not exactly the same, but being a traditionalist when it comes to these things, I just think it's a shame.

Most West Ham fans are ambivalent too to be fair. I'm not sure what to think. May have a better idea after a day at the olympics I guess.

Still, be nice to be rid of those awful plastic hammers on the side of the west stand. How, ...just...who...how...?!?

I'd have Stevie G tomorrow, top player.

Great news for Palace if West Ham win as they should be able to move into the NSC at Crystal Palace Park. I wonder what guarantees will be put in to ensure West Ham don't tear the track up after a couple of years and what access local kids will get to the stadium. I aslo think that West Ham should be forced to to give money to Leyton Orient over a long period, as long as the money is used for community projects and not just given to Hearn.

Oh good to see all the comments on the England game by the way, all big fans are we? Missed the gamem myself but heard Wilshire played well.

To be honest, I can't see the point of a meaningless freindly 3 days before prem games and a week before Champs league games. If players get injured in these daft games, the club and the fans suffer. But yeah Wilshere had a good 45 minutes.

I watched it. Pluses for the England's were of course the boy Wilshire. I thought Scott Parker and Ashley Young were very good in the second half too.

Glad West Ham won their bid. It's important to stay in your own manor and though new stadium that Tottenham plan to build will now cost us an extra ?200 million at least (hopefully) it will still be in the same area around White Hart Lane and the Tottenham High Road.

Nicely summed up by:

"But the England manager now has some difficult choices to make before the next competitive match as to what excuses he trots out for picking the same players.

Rumours from inside the England camp suggest he will drop Wilshere due to the blue bits in his aura and retain Gerrard because legend tells that the Liverpool midfielder can pull the mighty Excalibur from the stone whence it came."

see also Parker etc.

To be honest he'll be 31 this year and I think that doesn't appeal to Wegner, usually anyone over 30 gets shown the door or gets a year by year extension. He was a decent player at Charlton, toilet at Chelsea, regained some of his reputation at the Toon and has enhanced it at west Ham. I fear his time at the top is limited. Shame.

Karen Brady's slightly weird letter from the future as West Ham host their first game at the Olympic stadium - http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/sunsport_columnists/3402516/Karren-Brady-reveals-her-vision-of-West-Hams-future-at-the-Olympic-Stadium.html - that running track must be behind someone's head.

    • Hi all, Wondering if anyone else in/around SE22 is also having the unfortunate luck of having Evri parcels delivered by a very rude individual? Whenever we have parcels delivered, our front gate is being slammed open and closed, ring doorbell is harshly banged (not pressed) followed by simultaneously banging on the door knocker and slamming the letter box multiple times. Someone is normally home by the time they come in the evening and never has to wait long for an answer. If we’re not home, we speak to them on the doorbell so we do find the actions of this individual unreasonable and rude.  We have tried a couple of times politely asking that they not do this but they are very dismissive and gives a passive-aggressive “have a nice day” reply.  Has anyone been able to contact Evri and successfully had any issues similar to this resolved? We have enough evidence through our doorbell footage but we are lost with what else we can do. We’ve tried asking politely but don’t want our gate or door damaged by someone who simply doesn’t care and lacks basic manners.    If anyone else is having this issue or has any advice on how we can report this, it would be much appreciated. After another dismissive reply to my concern this afternoon, I will be calling Evri tomorrow to raise a complaint. I have lost my patience with them
    • Corbyn was unelectable - he got trashed by Boris who was a buffoon. It was a good job too because I would have hated to see Corbyn and his rag-tag bunch of far-left university politics backbenchers try to lead the country through Covid.  It is completely understandable why Starmer and the Labour Party want to purge Momentum from within their ranks and Cllr McAsh has fallen victim of that.
