Mick Mac
I think Liverpool messed up on the Suarez tshirt. But certainly noone will think less of them because of one stupid fan. Liverpool to my knowledge has always had a good fan base and a super reputation. Heysel and hillsborough were two very different events which each have their own explanations. Liverpool fans I think are held in high regard. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/392/#findComment-512589 Share on other sites

Otta
And absolutely fair enough if not. Though the fixture back in 2005 built a few bridges I think. Mick Mac
We are all decent people on this forum declan and we all support different teams.Edited to add. All teams have a bad element is what I meant. We don't need to take responsibility for them. Atticus
Dagleish has to admit he played massive part in this faux pas in lfc history. he is no longer untouchable, he screwed up. lfc is without doubt not a racist institution but the Suarez denial was pathetic. all clubs have a racist element, mine too, I walked out of an away game last season at spurs after a chant about, well you can guess. it sickens me, those who deny it doesn't go on any more need to lift their sorry heads from the sand. matthew123
It's a while since I made a post on this thread but having been logged in just wanted to make a few comments.Obviously there has been bit of a witch hunt in the media recently and it's not really a surprise. However Suarez did make a racial remark to Evra that is rightly regarded an offensive in the UK, I'd like to think the UK still leads the way in that respect between right and wrong. However what grates with Liverpool fans, or it does with me at least, is the apparent double standards not just with Patrice Evra but also John Terry. We know Ferguson will be wincing at the draw for the FA Cup and probably regretting his belittling of peace talks that Liverpool wanted with United to try and calm down the hostility between the Clubs. It's certainly a big fixture and I am sure it will be blown out of all proportion by the mindless hackers in the media but at the end of the day it's gonna be one hell of a football match! Alan Medic
I believe Fergie's comment regarding Liverpool's wish for peace talks referred to them doing it through the media, nothing else. He said from the outset that this issue was not a Man U Liverpool thing. Unfortunately it will probably become that when really it shouldn't.On another topic, when was the last time you saw police in riot gear inside a ground for a fixture? I've no idea. Parkdrive
Otta Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> That was never a red!I would agree with that on the basis that Kompany won the ball cleanly without even touching the opposition player, and have to agree Rooney getting in the refs face put pressure on him to produce the card. City showed that characteristic that Sky would have you believe is unique to Man Ure, "character". 11 a side I think Citeh would have won the game. Still the Liverpool V Man Ure should be tasty. What's the score with the Liverpool fan dishing out racial abuse to an Oldham player. Worrying trend if true. Alan Medic
Kompany didn't touch Nani because Nani avoided the tackle. It might have been a different story had he clattered him. Parkdrive
Alan Medic Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Kompany didn't touch Nani because Nani avoided the> tackle. I'd say its more like Kompany timed his tackle really well, Nani is such a pussy the slightest touch and he'd be rolling around like he'd been shot a la Platoon. Alan Medic
I presume City will appeal so it will be interesting to see if he gets off. A bit hypocritical of Mancini though to blame Rooney for getting him sent off given he ran down the touchline waving an imaginary card when City got a penalty against Liverpool. Otta
Much as I don't think it was a red, as a Liverpool fan, we could do with it standing, as he'd miss both games against us, and he is quality. Jah Lush
He'd miss the game against Tottenham too. Kompany is class so I hope on a purely selfish level he misses the game against us. Also, Ledley King is out for another couple of months after tearing his hamstring in training. I think Harry needs to go out and buy central defender in this window. Blackburn's Christopher Samba would do very nicely thank you. Most of us are now of the opinion he and the rest of the team have been taking their lead from Ferguson who could never be accused of being a shrinking violet.
