DollyDee
I don't have a garden as such, just a concreted over small yard. I have several large pots full of soil that I wish to throw out and know that soil is not allowed in with garden waste. Any ideas where I would get rid of the soil from these pots? IlonaM
If it is decent soil, why not offer it free in the 'For sale' section. More than likely someone might collect. Houseoflego
You could use a brown bin? Or garden waste sacks from the building in Dulwich park car park. You then leave them out for collection as you would a brown bin. Or the council dump on old Kent road. It?s free for southwark residents. solar
The council doesn't allow soil in brown bins or sacks. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/190911-soil-removal/#findComment-1243958 Share on other sites
Sally Eva
soil will recover. The soil in my garden wouldn't even grow weeds when I started and now the greenery is rampant. I take it you are changing the soil in your pots? with that explanation I would support the "give it away" suggestion. Try your neighbours. DollyDee
MarkT - It's no good for growing in. I used it for few years with tomato plants and then it sat there a few more years as I had nowhere to get rid of it. Wouldn't think it is nutrient-rich soil by now.Sally Eva - Yeah you're right. All our neighbours have concrete yards too. Thanks for suggestions all :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/190911-soil-removal/#findComment-1244113 Share on other sites

Wouldn't think it is nutrient-rich soil by> now.> Is this garden soil, or is it compost which you bought in to grow tomato plants in?If it is spent compost, I will take it off your hands. It doesn't matter if it has no nutrients left, it can be used to improve the structure of clay soil, and I can use it on my allotment.
