306 Medical Centre v DMC

Recommended Posts

I was at DMC and moved to 306 when I was getting fed up of not being able to get an appointment. My midwife was based at 306 which was a plus. 306 are brilliant at making appointments for little ones. They?ve often squeezed us in on the same day. The nurse is lovely for immunisations too

I can?t comment on 306 but have been with DMC a few years now. I don?t know if we have just been lucky so far, but since they have brought in the telephone triage system (you wait for a GP to call back and triage you), we?ve always been seen on the same day, when needed. It used to be a nightmare to get an appt.

For antenatal stuff, I self referred to Kings, as the Midwife appointments via DMC were very limited. I see a couple of Ivy Green midwives at Townley Rd which is really convenient for me.

Edited to add we?re with Crystal Palace Rd.

My experience the same as Waffo's: 306 much better than DMC, especially with small children.

Telephone triage at DMC CPR just means the receptionist decides who can see the GP. I got fed up with calling at 8am for an emergency appt (in some cases after discharge from hospital on Drs advice) and being told to travel to the walk-in centre in New Cross, wait for Seldoc to open at 6.30pm or go to A&E because there were no appts or call backs available.

Moved to 306 when pregnant with baby 2 and saw the Ivy Green team there.

I can not comment on 306, I have stuck with DMC but always wonder why?

I fail to understand the point of the new triage system, you either need to see a Dr or you don't and it just delays being seen. I ended up taking the hallucinating child to A & E which I hate doing but each time I called they said the Dr would call me back.

After a miserable spell at Melbourne Grove I moved (via Dr Sarma at Dulwich Hospital Surgery until that closed down) to 306 - Good staff all round (Dr Mujic is a favourite of my partner and self). They often run more than a little late but you never feel rushed (these things are possibly linked!).
