Best place for a Saturday celebratory lunch on the south bank?

Can anyone recommend somewhere with a good lunchtime atmosphere on a Saturday for 4 adults to have a civilised leisurely meal on the South Bank? I wondered about places like the oxo tower/ royal festival hall but it has mixed reviews. Any good steers welcome as I am responsible for booking this??

The Swan restauant at the Globe THeatre (top floor) has great food and great views over the river

RSJused to be good but not open on Sundays, I've enjoyed meals at Baltic on Blackfriars Road (just south of Southwark Tube Station)

Cafe Vergnano opposite entrance to Royal Festival Hall is nice, went for a meal last Tuesday evening very nice indeed.

I will Second the Chop House -Despite the name they also have good veggie food too!

A short hike from the South Bank, but worth it to get to Zucca on Bermondsey Street.

Skylon. It can be pricey but the views and food and service are all good. There is a cheaper brasserie and a more expensive restaurant. Have a look on TopTable for good discounts, or ring them up and ask about the lunch menu.

I too like the Chop House. Has river views. Went there for a Sunday birthday last year.

We went to the Swan for saturday lunch and had a lovely table overlooking the river on the upper floor. The ambience and the service were very good, but I would have to say the food was not that special- the kind of food you can have at the Rosendale pub, so nice, but not memorable.

I have been to Skylon at The Royal Festival Halls a couple of times and although the food was good the atmosphere was dead. It was very quiet and a bit stuffy actually. I prefer the Oxo Tower, you would def want a window seat and food and service was good.
