My sons play in with a local team Tulse Hill Juniors. It's an old South London club that stopped for a while and is now rebuilding its squad.

They train on Saturdays (10am-12, opposite the cafe in Dulwich Park) and play matches in the Tantridge League on a Sunday morning (their home matches are played on the Dulwich Prep pitches)

The club really needs to find more players. Today for example although they fielded 3x teams, the U9s played with 1 less player than their opposition and had no subs.

It's a friendly club - both kids and watching parents.

They are also looking for anyone who would like to be part of their coaching team.

Email [email protected] for more detail, or just come along on Saturday morning (stud boots, shin pads etc)

Thx!

Not every Sunday, they understand that families have lives outside of football but being in a team and playing competitive matches is really important to the club and actually the boys who seem incredibly proud of their training kit and their match kit and being in a league. Other clubs we looked out kicked out boys if they weren't committed to playing every Sunday which we found fairly tough.

Thank you nylonmeals for the Big Up. I'm one of the coaches at Tulse Hill JFC and like all the coaches there I have more than 15 years experience. I'm one of two UEFA B qualified coaches at the club which is professional academy level. The club has many ex players now playing at professional level (https://www.tulsehilljfc.co.uk/former-players) and dozens who attended pro academies.

But the most important thing is not ability, it's attitude. We ask that the boys and girls who join us have a great attitude and try their hardest at training and when playing.

We also understand that sometimes players cannot make training or a match. They won't be kicked out for that - but they might be for having a bad attitude, being a bully or by their parent's bad behaviour. Our aim is to provide a safe environment for every child to achieve their potential as both a footballer and as a human being. That's why we have professionally qualified coaches and a Club Welfare Officer. We are all trained in first aid and safeguarding children. And we are all volunteers, doing what we love.

Starting places in teams will generally go to those that turn up to training on time and have a good attitude. We will keep expanding to allow more children to join the club. We now have 16 regulars at U10 and there are also large numbers at the other younger age groups including five and six year olds. As we grow we will build more teams. For example we plan to have 2 teams at U10 by Xmas. So we are looking for players and parents who are a good fit for our club, and coaches and wannabe coaches too. All are welcome. Happy to answer questions or chat live. Rad

A quick update. Since my last post four more coaches have joined the club. We now have 2 teams at U10. The original U10 team won the Gold Vase final a week before Xmas 2018. The U9s got to their cup final too. Not bad for teams which have been together for 3-4 months. The new U10s play their second game tomorrow. We have registered a second U8 team who will play their first game in the next couple of weeks. We will continue to expand as players and coaches join us. Training is in Dulwich Park in front of the cafe every Saturday from 10-12noon.

    • I highly recommend Temi as a very skilled and reliable painter / decorator based in the East Dulwich & SE London area. She has completed many jobs for us over the past 10 years at our property on Overhill Road SE22 and also on Harlescott Road SE15, and we have always been thoroughly impressed with her work. We often leave her with keys and leave her to work her magic, fully confident that she's 100% trustworthy and will always do a fantastic job. If you're looking for a trustworthy local decorator who delivers exceptional work Temi is a great person to call. I'm not affiliated with her or her business in any way and actually found her through a recommendation on the ED forum over 10 years ago, i just like to recommend really good tradespeople who deserve a thank you. • ''He caused chaos  in this country with his put down of everything British and his many dismal words about the effects of Brexit on this country.'' What utter tosh. Carney had to mitigate the effects of Brexit caused by plastic patriots like Farage. For example, immediately after the 2016 Brexit vote the BoE had to intervene fiscally by dropping interest rates and increasing QE in order to prevent the economy from taking a big hit.  They were unable to prevent the £ from crashing at the time, and it has since been worked out that the effect of that alone caused a circa £900/year hit to each UK household, which equates to the UK @ £450m/week.   There's reams of data out there that shows the economic damage Brexit has caused to the UK. Here's one looking at business investment, admittedly not very sexy but kinda important if you want to achieve economic growth. It's clear to see that prior to 2016 we had reached parity with some of our main rivals, but since then we've flatlined. All that Brexit has achieved is to win the race to the bottom. There's a reason why Farage never brought up Brexit at the last election, he knows himself it hasn't delivered on any of the promises, quite the reverse in fact.  Labour, stupidly, by saying they can make Brexit work have in effect given Farage a Get Out of Jail Free card...
