What would you think if on my commute to work I took out of my handbag an electric shaver, toothbrush and my false teeth and finished preparing myself for the day ahead while travelling on the tube/train? Mad, I'm sure. So how come so many women spend their journey applying make-up? And it's usually the pretty ones. If you want to set off to work semi 'dressed', do the make up at home and come in your jammies. Then get dressed. It would make the journey for some of the rest of us that more interesting.

BTW, yesterday, while following the hoardes off trains to the next one/exit, twice I nearly crashed into a female's rear as she suddenly stopped to read a text message. Shouldn't people have to take a 'walking test' if they are to own a phone? I think so. That was dangerous walking in my opinion. Good job I was able to do an emergency stop on both occasions but if I'd been going faster it could have been nasty.

I trust this post is on the right thread Admin.

Err, if trains (as well as buses) supplied cheese and commuters carrying cream cheese canapes could commonly be seen then frustrating females finished with their face who then turn to thumbing texts would be risking cream cheese to the posterior which (concerned about their appearance as they clearly are) might be a suitable deterrent.

I have long held the belief that almost all foods are improved through the addition of cheese (or that there there are very few that are not). Could it be that I've missed the wider point, that cheese improves all things not just food...?

You may be aware that a fellow CheeseRangeronce had a penchant for much Fromage.

NETTE:-S

Thanks I was not - before my time. I wonder is there any original thought on the EDF or are we destined to go on repeating our little lives and thoughts round and round reliving the same conversations day after day.

Have you just pointed out a glitch in the Matrix...?

Dear Lady, I beg you

To cook as you please,

But don?t overlook the

Importance of cheese!

As a casserole topping

All bubbly and brown,

It will make your fine cooking

The talk of the town.

As a spread for a sandwich

Or a puffy souffl?

It will help you to cope

On your busiest day.

Its tang and its flavor

Will tempt and will tease;

?Most all of your dishes

Can be sharpened with cheese!

    • I can't access the article - what's the gist?  I took the markets getting jittery when she was crying at PMQs to be a sign that they trusted her. But maybe it was because they were simply worried about any form of instability.  The NIC hikes have stymied the economy, which we could all see a mile off. Will a wealth tax improve things? Does anyone here think the trickle down has any impact and that chasing out the super rich will help things? Or are we just seeing off the biggest contributors to the economy? And has the Kwasi approach ever worked anywhere else?  Economics is not my strong point at all, I'd love to know others' opinions, but it seems to be she has few options, especially as the party is so divided.
    • does either of them have a surgery? probably not over summer, but I thought they had to give the opportunity for their constituents to meet them.
    • MaryT, I’ve contacted the Dulwich Hill councillors several times in recent years, always copying them both in. I have never had an acknowledgment from Jon Hartley (not even an automated response or out-of-office) nor had any response or engagement from him regarding the issue raised.   On each occasion, only Maggie Browning responded (she uses an out-of-office if she is away). The last time, I received no response from either for 3 months, until Maggie Browning emailed me to apologise for not responding and asking if the problem had been resolved.
    • The  Kwasi effect is being considered.
