They used to credit the amount to your TW account and you had to remember to check it had appeared. Earlier this year, there were water woes around SE22/23 edges and this time, they sent a cheque. Somewhat cynically, I did wonder whether they'd decided that not everyone would cash the cheque so they might get away with 90% take up rather than the direct credit. However, it might be because it's more tangible and visible for those expecting it.

Low pressure or no water

Last updated Sunday 4 November 2018 - 01:50hrs.

We have successfully rerouted the water from the surrounding area, this means your water supply will now begin to return as the pressure in the pipe begins to increase.

Whilst our teams continue working to repair the broken pipe, some customers may experience fluctuations in their pressure, especially if you are in a flat or high rise building.

The bottled water is available for collection from 0900hrs at the below location:

Straker's Road, SE15 3UA

We sorry for any disruption caused.

No evidence on Whateley Road of pressure returning to normal.

no water on CPR near the GE - enough this am tofill the Brita filter twice, flush the toilet !! quick ablute, we are all longing for a shower.

Ideal drying days - in November! with washer disabled.

Apparently the water was back on through the night?

the water has gone again this morning - we managed to get 1 flush from the loo last night, since Friday. No water coming into the cistern this morning. I rang Thames water, they said they are aware there are still problems in SE22 & working on it & bottled water available across the rye on Strakers, but bottled water is not going to help us flush the loo:(
The pressure remains low on Melbourne Grove. We're lucky enough to have water - which clearly not everybody does - but are having to prioritise its use. I've turned the boiler off altogether as it's struggling (due to lack of water pressure) to even supply the hot taps.

If you have an old style system with a cold water tank supplied from the mains, then normally the heating part of the central heating system is sealed - so that the boiler heats hot water for the radiators and for a coil through your hot water cylinder which then heats the water for washing etc. which will be supplied via your cold water tank (modern systems may be different) - the sealed system uses a pump to move the water round your pipes. So heating radiators should be fine, although supply to your cold water tank (and thence your cylinder) will rely on mains pressure.

Low pressure or no water

Last updated Monday 5th November 2018 - 05:10.

Our teams have successfully completed the repair and are now in the process of putting the repaired pipe back into use. Customers in the area will notice lower pressure than normal, but this will slowly increase as the water pressure builds up in the area. If you are in a flat or high rise building, it will take slightly longer to build up and return to normal.

If your water is cloudy, this is quite normal following our repairs but it's best to run your cold kitchen tap for a few minutes once your water is back on.

To find out more visit our help page here - https://www.thameswater.co.uk/help-and-advice/water-quality/cloudy-water

Should you require bottled water, it remains available for collection from 08:30hrs at the below location:

Straker's Road, SE15 3UA

    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
