Hello

I've been looking for something like this so I'm glad I found it :) I am expecting my first baby early April and would love to meet other mums to be in the area.

This is a great resource by the way so thanks for starting the thread

Stacey

Hi there BlueGoose

Perfect, sounds good to me. PM me your number and we I'll set up a group. Judging by the other threads we will hopefully have a few more mums to be keen to meet up so January gives us a bit of time for that too :)

Would be lovely to meet for a coffee in the new year

Stacey

Hello all,

I am a first time mum to be expecting at the beginning of May , living in Herne Hill , would love to meet some other local mums . Coffee meet up sounds great in Jan ! I'm giving 'jelly belly' pregnancy fitness classes a go this Sunday in east dulwich .. missing my usual sporting hobbies so thought I'd give this a go !

Also expecting my second in April. Is there a WhatsApp group already? What?s everyone?s thoughts about a Facebook group - we had one for a winter babies group back in 2016 and it worked really well? If not, please keep me posted on the next meet up.

Hello,

I?m a bit late to this,, but I am expecting my first baby in May. I am also fairly new to the area so meeting other Mum?s to be would great. Please let me know what I need to do to join the whatsapp group. It?s such a good idea.

Thanks, Hannah x

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
    • That was one that the BBC seem to have lost track of.  But they do still have quite a few. These are some in their 60s archive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0028zp6
