Blocked Drains

I called Dave from Down the Drain on Monday with a blocked kitchen outflow pipe after recommendations on here and also a plumber. Came this morning at 7.30 and had it fixed within 15 minutes with no bother, fuss or mess.

Very polite and professional gentleman who I wouldn't hesitate to recommend if you are unfortunate enough to have blocked pipes/drains.

There are a lot of diy methods for unclogging drains. The easiest method is to just flush the drain with boiling water. What I normally use is a mixture of salt and baking soda.Take about ? cup of salt and then about ? cup of baking soda and then pour it down the blocked drain. You could use baking soda and vinegar or even bleach. Here?s a blog that mentions some safe chemical free diy methods to unblock your drains(http://www.brothersplumbing.ca/blog/unclog-drain/6-ways-unclog-drain/).

Dave from Down the Drain came today to sort out my blocked loo. He sorted it right away. He was very prompt at returning my call and to make arrangements for coming over. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them. Only charged me ?45. Very reasonable. http://down-the-drain.co.uk/. 020 8314 5244.
Big recommendation for Dave Down the Drain. He came to us quickly when we had an emergency sewage drain problem and fitted us in around existing booked work because he saw what a bad (and emotional!) state we were in. He was very knowledgeable and just an all round great guy. So grateful to him for helping us out and getting it sorted. He's the sort of guy who goes the extra mile for his customers. Thank you!

I too recommend Dave from Down the Drain. We tried everything ourselves first, before calling Down the Drain. Dave came first thing the next day and swiftly sorted out our blocked sinks. A very thorough and informative person whose rates are good too. Great to have someone you can trust coming to do a job that's not often needed.

I called Dave from Down the Drain yesterday on the back of this thread, for a drain that was flooding out onto our patio. Dave clearly set out his rates, which were very reasonable, over the phone, and was round in about an hour.

He unblocked the drain very quickly and checked everything was working properly, and even checked further down the drain to make sure it wasn't cracked with the cold weather. First class job, and a friendly chap too, so I would definitely recommend him and would use him again without hesitation.

His number is 020 8314 5244.

Phoned Dave from Down the Drain on Tuesday evening; asked for him to come at 07:30 on Wednesday - by 07:45 the blockage was clear and he was back at 07:30 on Thursday to do a permanent repair to the very dodgy antique plumbing that had caused the problem. Friendly, efficient, and done for less than the call out charge of some of the bigger firms. All in all - excellent service!

Another recommendation for Dave - fast, good value, effective and polite - cleared an outdoor drain and had him back a few days later to sort a long-standing bathroom sink drainage issue I was so pleased. Great job. Landline number 0208 314 5244 [email protected] www.down-the-drain.co.uk

    • I am trying to find out about people's experiences of the 4+ and 7+ assessments. I am a teacher and have a wealth of experience tutoring for theses assessments (including my own son), but it's always good to keep on top of things as they always make tweaks to them. TIA!
    • "You have no idea why"   To be fair Sue, it's blindingly obvious to anyone who has a conversation with anyone who isn't a Corbyn supporter. And even some who liked Corbyn (like me initially) found him somewhat flaky even at his most popular But let's say you are right and I have NO idea why anybody might not vote for him. They still didn't vote for him. He lost two elections. The second one badly (and strongly predicted but the stubborn old goat wouldn't budge so we we were stuck with Johnson and another 3 million PMs in the 5 years that followed) So even with ZERO evidence, we have our eyes and ears and brains But we do have evidence   https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/27022-their-own-words-why-voters-abandoned-labour
    • As I said, it was my understanding. I worded it very carefully. I didn't/don't know for sure, so clearly not a fact. And hardly an "opinion", which is something completely different. You have no idea what reason anybody might have had for not voting for him (unless you can point to some opinion poll results which actually asked people?)
