First of all apologies for the somewhat ridiculous post title. :)

We've been in ED for just over a month now and have two cats who access the garden through our cat flap, but on at least four occasions one of my cats has been chased into the house and through the flap by an unseen creature of some kind. Much snarling and puffed up fur has ensued, and it's woken us up in the middle of the night each time.

This evening, about 20 mins ago the same thing happened but we caught the cat in our kitchen having chased our oldest and quite fat cat into the kitchen. It was an absolutely huge ginger Tom cat, who proceeded to freak out and thrash around the kitchen, destroying a few plates in the process. We shut him in the bathroom for a minute or two until he calmed down enough to be let out. Don't worry he was completely unscathed and received a calming stroke from my husband.

I suppose I wanted to warn any other cat owners in the St Aidan's, Upland and Marcus Garvey Mews area to ensure their cat flaps are either locked at night or that they are the kind operated by a collar or microchip, or potentially warn the owner that this is occurring regularly.

    • I’d also recommend Paul for electrical work. He came round the other week to help us out with a handful of jobs (installing an SPD, new light fittings, installing a dimmer switch, a bathroom fan). His quote was cheaper than what I got from others, he turned up on time and he got the job done quickly.
    • We’d like to add our recommendation for Lukasz and team at L&L Building & Maintenance.  Lukasz has recently installed a roof terrace for us, and we’ve found him a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We contacted about a dozen recommended builders and found his quote very competitive. During the build his team delivered quality work, they were no hassle in the house at all and they kept the place tidy every day. The terrace looks great, and we’re very happy customers. What stood out in particular was Lukasz’s responsiveness, right from discussing quotes to follow-up during the build. Lukasz often checked in and was always available when we needed him.  We’ll definitely contact Lukasz again for future building work and we’d happily recommend him to others looking for a reliable builder.   Lukasz Kugaczewski L&L Building & Maintenance 07926651960 [email protected] www.landl-build.com
    • Yes, I did mention the train, which I now get from East Dulwich to Guys instead of the 40. Depends where in East Dulwich you are starting from which route is easiest! I think it is probably lack of staff rather than lack of hospitals which is the problem?
    • What can be done? How about reporting it to the police?
