andypandy
We sometimes used to go to Curry Cabin for a buffet with the kids. Now that CC has closed is there another Curry house that does a buffet? Sue
Don't they all do a buffet on Sundays? Of varying quality .....Surma, Dulwich Tandoori and Memsaab definitely do. sweetgirl
FYII went to memsaab last night, looked at the menu for a fish dishWhen I enquired what Indian fish they use, I was told tilapia!I told him I didn't realise tilapia was an Indian fish as that's not how I know it.Generally They usually use coley fish in Indian restaurants.Anyway, came home checked the ratings on the Southwark website & it was a 2!Highly disappointed to say the least! This is the first time in about 15 yrs I have used a Indian restaurant in dulwich..... I usually venture out of town where these restaurants are plentiful. lorraineliyanage
It's a bit further to travel but Babur in Honor Oak does a Sunday buffet and it has a 5 food hygiene rating. Having said that, my favourite Vietnamese in Camberwell used to have a 0 rating but has nudged that up to a lofty 2 earlier this year!https://www.babur.info/our-food-drink/sunday-buffet/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/212963-curry-house-in-ed-with-buffet-now-that-curry-cabin-has-gone/#findComment-1302717 Share on other sites
Sue
Suggest you look at the thread on here regarding ratings and their shortcomings .... Meat and fish used in "Indian" restaurants here are going to be dictated by local availability.. I think that's fair enough.
