No Way is it charging (although no proof)

Great Exhibition is sold out (as last year) - It's fancy Dress though and some people love that :)

What was the problem with House of Tippler? why a waste of time? Just curious, but dont particularly like the place.

It's always a good idea to keep a list of the free entry pubs on NYE just in case it doesn't work out for one reason or another. ?5 is actually just the price of a pint - but that's not my issue with tickets.

Probably no more than about 40 people in there,

Absolutely no effort made by the bar as it was a "special" NYE night.....

To be honest it seems like the lane has gone quite downhill for nights out

I used to go nearly every weekend about 10 yrs ago, the vibe has completely changed!

I generally pass through the lane on weekends & find it nowhere near to how busy it used to be!

I have to say liquorice was my favourite place back then!

To be honest, without going into details I went out by accident.

It's been at least 8yrs since I celebrated NYE away from my home.

I guess I just expected a bit more excitement! Lol

The fiver weren't too bad to pay, but not for a dead night!

I went there about 11.30pm, by 12.30 am I was back home!

I can't see that happening again in a hurry, next year I'll probably snuggle up to my duvet!

I think you could be right about that!

When I was telling my friend about my night she suggested I should've gone to prince of Peckham....

Saying that I'm definitely over 40 but my mind tells me I'm still in my 20's! 😎😜

Lordship Lane was sort of a mini destination a few years ago, and it was pretty buzzy on a Friday and Saturday night... but not really these days. Partly because Peckham has so much more going on, but also I reckon because of the nature of people who tend to move to ED. People in their 40s with kids. Not many carefree 20/30 somethings.

I'm guessing that was written by someone who's never been to the West Norwood Picturehouse. In an organisation with a proud tradition of slow and poor service, they stand out as lowering the standard.

    • What is the reason for the change in name? Just curious.
    • Why change it?  You’ve got a fantastic historic, memorable name and you want to change it for something innocuous.
    • From the school newsletter:   A New Name for Dog Kennel Hill As you know we have been discussing and consulting with stakeholders about a  name change at DKH for a while. Following engagement with staff, pupils and  families, we gathered all views on a name change for the school and after  careful consideration of the feedback, the Local Committee and the Trust have  agreed with changing the school name to Grove Primary School from  September 2025.  Over the next few months we will begin a gradual process of changing our  name on signage, our website and emails etc. We will keep you updated.  We will be looking at designing a new logo to match the new school name and  will be working closely with a graphic designer to get creative. The school  council will be actively involved in this process. We will share the results with  you as soon as a design has been agreed and confirmed. We will be creating a  new school jumper to replace the old one, once the logo has been finalised. We  will phase this in over time.  We know that this is a welcoming change for some and that there are  parents and children who will be sad about the change. However, as a school  we think it will be a positive change for our school community and we will  work together to ensure that the ethos and culture of DKH will remain!
