Mick Mac
I think they are good. No problem in Ed except near ED station for some reason. Great internet on HTC phone too. Have been 3 customer for 6 years or so. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21355-3-mobile-phone-coverage/#findComment-513160 Share on other sites
buggie
3 is terrible in Nunhead (between the cemeteries) I'm not with them, but my Mum is and can't get any signal when she visits. Fly
I've been with 3 for many years. Reception generally worse but much cheaper so worth it. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21355-3-mobile-phone-coverage/#findComment-513219 Share on other sites

tarafitness
I'm on 3, it's generally very good in ED but really patchy in the Villagecan't beat the all-you-can eat data and minutes deals though, it's what made me leave O2 who I'd been with for over 10 years! steveb
I might have to make the switch as Tmobile retentions have not called me back and all you can eat data is a winner. Southerner39
I'm with 3 and have no problem, except when in Wales! There is a transmitter on top of the Co-operative Food on Lordship Lane. Pippo Inzaghi
Been with 3 for about six or seven years and pretty faultless in my experience. I agree with Shell... no reason I can see for the (previously) poor image. I think people were just a bit sniffy about the cheaper new kid on the block. Think 3 used to be a bit behind the others in terms of getting the latest phones but not any more. the-e-dealer
THe reason for the poor image was the poor coverage- Best to check coverage maps if in doubt. the-e-dealer
Just looked at the coverage map - its very patchy South of M25 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21355-3-mobile-phone-coverage/#findComment-513689 Share on other sites
Google
i was with them on a dongle modem ?10.00 for 1gb of data, but computer was always getting attacked with trojons, i loged all the ip's of them and they all came from china, "the original owners of the network" also customer service told me to click a box in explorer to delete internet pages on exit, which will cause you to use more data again, the idea is to make the page load faster next time you visit. it was actually leading to 30 pound a month, its ok for emails but when i skype to the usa amd spain it ate all my data.im with a company and i pay 4.99 amonth for 10 gb through the landline.but you could have it free if you pick up btzone on wifi, but you will have to know someone with bt broadband and share there pass key, if a few of you chiped in for the connection and share the cost you could get unlimited for a few pound a month each. and any ware you travel. Sails
Well every one 4G is coming in the next few months and its promised to be 4 times better. Willard
I'm with 3, very happy with reception and Internet speeds on 3G seem quicker. Much better than O2 which used to drop calls in my house all the time.I also got ?110 cash back when I joined and got the new iPhone. All you can eat data is cool and also if you have an iPad you can tether it to the phone. This is also free but other providers charge for this. Double winning. MelonSmasher
The reception around The Grove side of Lordship Lane is barely functional, for some reason I've still been with 3 for a few years. Same problem every time round. No complaints apart from that one though. Their customer service and the rest is great. Until 2009, it was barely usable with only one bar of reception, since the agreement with Everything Everywhere (T-Mobile/Orange) to use their base stations the reception is so much better. I now get 4-5 bars on my dongle and get faster data speeds. Bic Basher
I've discovered Ofcom's Base Station Sitefinder site. This shows all current mobile transmitters in the area and confirms that 3 and T-Mobile are sharing in ED which has improved reception.http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/search Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21355-3-mobile-phone-coverage/#findComment-517733 Share on other sites
