I was at a Neighbourhood Watch resident's meeting last night, with two local coppers. Amazingly, these wee bottles came up, several people there had seen this thread and I'm sure the others will now have descended for a gander. Plod made a note of the address, and may well investigate soon. I don't think we're talking DNA profiling, and they didn't seem that interested in "taking a taste test" as I put it, but they're on the case. Well, mercifully there's not a lot of real crime around here, really...

I think Alex is right - much discussion on BBC London yesterday morning of same news story about people (not just kids) addicted to gaming peeing into bottles rather than taking a break to go to the bathroom. Yuck.

Perhaps this is where the "number two's" are being left?

    • my bet is it's the same group and no amount of talking to is going to make a difference.
    • Definitely not intended  to come across as "gleeful". Quite the opposite, because developments such as this will only encourage extreme right-wingers such as Reform. And heaven help us if they ever formed a government. It's incumbent on Labour to come up with an effective  policy to "smash the gangs" otherwise we are facing Farage and his gang further down the road.
    • It feels like it might be an extension of the summer water bombing spate. The sad thing is this could really put off some visiting the park. I really hope the council seriously consider putting some of their huge parking surplus to funding a serious and permanent warden and police presence in the park; it is needed.
    • So glad the kids that threatened your dog were spoken to. Also good to know police aware of fireworks. I heard some going off again this evening, well before dusk, so they need to get on top of this or with it getting dark earlier it may get a lot worse.
