?16 for a HALF a Poussin, as if it isn?t small enough!! Food tasted ok but extremely overpriced for portion size. Not sure who the target audience is for the place. It?s good for a drinks on the outside in the sun, but unfortunately the restaurant has let it down.

EI Group takeover of Palmerston already looks like its floundering.

Gimmicky offer of free wifi.

Empty on Sunday lunchtime when previously you had to book in advance to even have a chance of a table.

That's what happens when you take the heart out of something.

The Heart of the Palmerstone was taken out 15 years ago when Reg (Buckley)? the then owner

evicted Keith (long term Manager) and his two boys making Keith Homeless and Jobless.

I believe Reg may of enjoyed a period of joint ownership of the over priced restaurant

called The Palmerston but seemed to of disappeared off the Radar.

I did reluctantly go for a drink there 15 years ago but was told I could not take a seat unless I was eating.

I never went back to eat or drink.

I am disappointed that the new venture has not fulfilled it's promise to me by the new owner

that the Palmerston whould primarily be a 'Pub' that served some food and Not a Licenced Restaurant.

I have not stepped foot in the place.

Yes, the Palmerston was def more of a restaurant. (I always consider a "gastropub" as somewhere you'd go to eat, not really just for a drink.. a restaurant in a pub-like setting...)

I never considered it over-priced, though. It wasn't cheap.. but good food rarely is. It was successful in an era before gentrification had fully gripped SE22, but people liked the food, and it didn't have much competition (Franklins aside). I wonder what you think a fair price would be, for a three-course meal with quality ingredients? (Curry doesn't count).

    • One month on and Never-Here-Keir is getting ever closer to the toaster. It seems that he goes AWOL at every opportunity. He's done 34 foreign trips to 26 countries since becoming PM.  Surely, with all the in-fighting going on at #10 and with some MPs and one Labour mayor on manoeuvres,  should he not be staying at home and fighting for his premiership and the interests of the Labour party?  or does he reckon he is already doomed and feels better away from it all?
    • 5stars!   Aria has completed a third job for me today and I’m always so glad to recommend him to anyone looking for a friendly, timely and communicative plumber.    Aria came to look at the job on the day I messaged about it (replacing and repositioning radiators). He advised on different solutions and what I needed to buy.   He then came back today to do the work. He managed to move things around to get it done in the small window I had available. The work was done to a very high standard (Aria will always check for any potential issues several times) and for very good value.  He’s also just a really nice friendly guy who I’ll definitely work with again.
