You could download MgOpen Cosmetica, which is another Optima rip-off. It's open source. Unless of course you need it to be in Microsoft's "standard pallette"...

Ok got it, no it's no use for document sharing. It's not a system font and it doesn't ship with Office so unlikely to be on other people's machines. Verdana over Tahoma, personal taste. And more readable if used for paragraph text, especially at smaller sizes.

I love fonts too!

Got a whole book about them - "Just My Type" by Simon Garfield. Haven't read much of it yet though .... too many books on the go at once .....

I like "Identity" which we use for some of The Goose poster headings (though we're about to change the poster design) but it has strange spacing glitches which are very annoying if you're using it in Word, and sometimes runs letters together or puts them miles apart.

In a hurry and shouldn't be on the forum at all, so can't find an example - would have to find a pdf to post.

ETA: Just realised, if you click on the Goose link the main heading on the home page is in Identity.

    • Hen123, you've presumably watched it.  Does it deal at all with the question of the anticipated per capita future costs of necessary repairs to or upgrading of the ?still largely old underground piping across their area, and how that compares with future risks existing in other areas?  I wonder too whether the latest apparent concentrated spate of leaks is attributable at all to the heat. TW say that they have not made any dividend payments to external shareholders (among them a Candian teachers pension fund) since 2017.    There have been like payments, though, to their holding companies (?Kemble, and Thames ?something), reportedly I think to service debts to them. Thames Water annual company reports are available online.
    • I was talking to my brother in the law last weekend who works for a different water company. He said he and his colleagues watch TW’s woes with a mixed of horror, disbelief and then relief that they work for a different water company. Worth a watch. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00284vt
    • But Thatcher is dead. Nobody since has brought the utilities back under public ownership (if that's the right term). So there are many people who could be blamed. Meanwhile the shareholders get richer and everyone else gets increasing bills and a poorer service. Plus as said above, a massive waste of a limited resource like water. Not to mention the polluted rivers and seas. At least the privatisation of the railways is being reversed. Hopefully water may be on the list somewhere.
    • That's really helpful. Do the Community Councils still exist? It sounds to me that whoever the contact is on the council who has sorted out the North Cross Road notice board and put the new list of councillors in it must at least have access to the key for that one? Unless it was one of the unlocked ones. And of course if somebody knows where the keys are, they may have no idea that people are looking for them or that this forum thread exists. Which are the notice boards which are not locked?  The very helpful locksmith near the station (?Callows?)  might be able to provide keys for them, or if not, new locks, in return for some local publicity? In fact, they may be able to advise in general, rather than keep trying unresponsive people at the council. But then of course there is still the question of who is going to take responsibility for putting appropriate East Dulwich community information into them and updating it as necessary.
