Hoping to pick the collective creative minds of the forum...

We've been invited to a friend's daughter's 2nd birthday party, got told it's fancy dress - thought bless will be fun excuse to dress up Bugglet, but we've now found out that hubbie & I are also exextend to dress up :-S

So... Any ideas? Bugglet is 18mths & fairly small so unlikely to fit supermarket fancy dress & am clueless about me & hubbie - trying to think along nursery rhyme/fairy tale themes but no ideas yet!

- Dracula,

- Pippi Longstocking

- Pyjama Party (in your night gown)

- go with a nice wig from wandsworth road

- Alien (green face painting)

- "Dotty" (like the exhibition from the japanese artist at tate modern with all the dots)

- harry potter

...

endless possibilities. Shall I go instead? (only joking)

enjoy

As Pam50 says, you and your husband could go in stripey tops with eye patches, headscarfs, etc as pirates....but maybe the buglet could go as a parrot!! Dress her in green and get her a little feathery headers or fascinator type thing!

Or you could get one of these and sew it onto a headband for her, dress her in green etc, or am I getting carried away?!

(not sure that my fancy dress ideas might not be a bit skewed after the 'mum dressing me as a poacher' trauma which you may remember from a thread a while ago, hahaha!)

Oooo - knew you guys'd come up trumps!! Thought & ruled out "mad men" style (annoying as have perfect dress) as thought might be bit too grown up! Liking pirate ideas esp dressing bugglet up as a parrot - though if I got the toy parrot & dressed her in brown she could go as the perch maybe!

Will let you know how it goes :-)

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
