Definately misleading.... But how would a small store be able to honor such a deal. ??

Common sense would say there has to be a catch.. ?

Supermarkets always raise ther prices before giving the Buy one get one free deal..

They are able to do deals because if they buy in twice as much stock they get Huge reductions on cost.

Also Baileys 1 ltr ?17.00 one week.. Then ?21.00...

Then they announce Great Reduction Baileys ?17.00 SAVE ?4.00.

Then the real Trick to make you think you are getting a Bargain..

ONLY 4 Bottles per Person...

Fox..

Interesting

The advert is misleading, but did you speak to Barry / Shine (the two older guys in the store) or one of the younger guys as barry or Shine would sort it out if you spoke to them.

I have to say, I have been using then for as long as they have been in the area and I have no issues / complaints about them in the past 20 years so I suspect it is something that has happened by mistake rather then on purpose or to mislead you.

I would also suggest not reporting them to trading standards as they are a local business and not a big supermarket, so any fines they receive could effect them un propotionally and as such we could end up loosing a well used and well loved family store.

However i would suggest you talk to the owners directly and raise your complaint with them to see if they will resolve it.

It might just be the person on duty in the shop didn't understand themselves so told you the wrong thing. I was once asked up north for ID to buy asprin (you have to be 12) when I am blatantly in my mid-twenties.

I bought 3 easter eggs for the price of one the other day in London Bridge with exactly the same phrase on the shelf.

So go back there and demand your extra Ragu!!

Good evening, its Shine from Barry's.

Firstly I would like to apologise regarding the Ragu offer, I can confirm that the offer is buy one get two free. All staff have been informed and I can assure this mistake will not occur again.

Also we have had some stock issues with Nisa, which we are currently resolving.

We are a local community store, that look to serve the local community and pride ourselves on our customer service.

Again, I would like to apologise for the misunderstanding and the mistake on our part. Finally, if there are any items that you would like us to stock which we currently don't, please contact Shine/Barry.

Thank you.

Kind Regards. Shine Bedi

    • Surprise, surprise. It didn't take them long, did it. This will be something of a test as to how much the council really care about parks and the environment. A footfall of 60,000. Are they mad? There is no way this park is designed for or can sustain that sort of use. Just had a look at the schedule. If allowed to go ahead, this will involve a large slice of the park (not the common) sectioned off and out of use for three weeks of May and the first week of June. Here's an idea, why not trial the festival in one of the other Southwark Parks, so the 'goodness' can be shared around the borough?
    • There was another unprovoked attack on Monday this week on a young woman nearby (Anstey Road) at 6.45pm. Don't have any other details, it was posted on a Facebook group by her flatmate. Pretty worrying  https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EGfDrCAST/
    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.
