I have been seeing an osteopath once or twice a week for about 6 months now. Stripping down to bra and pants is normal, though - often - depending on where she is working, I am able to retain leggings. Osteopaths work holistically and, therefore, tend to look at the body as a whole as, for example, (as in my case) hip, knee and hamstring problems could be directly related to the lower back.

I notice that your current osteopath is a "he" and am wondering if you are a "she"? If so, might you not feel a little less uncomfortable seeing a female osteopath? If so, I can recommend Amberin Fir at the Grove Vale Practice. She is the best I have seen and has single handedly ensured my steady progress following a broken coccyx/fractured sacrum. She is highly experienced and also very sensitive to any feelings of unease. I recall once having to remove my leggings when wearing a scruffy old pair of knickers underneath; she sensed my mortification and sweetly handed me a little towel which which to cover that area! I hope you get well soon.

I've been going to the Sunflower centre in Hilly Fields SE4 for a number of years and seen four different osteopaths there and they rarely ask me to take off my clothes except for boots and jumper, unless they want to look closely at my posture. I think depends on how they are trained but if you want to keep your clothes on you could try the Sunflower and it comes highly recommended.

    • Another recommendation for James - he helped us move house at short notice. He has a very big Luton van and he kindly helped us load and unload the van and was lovely to chat to for the hour long journey.
    • We used Joseph to move house and he was very communicative, punctual and was lovely to chat to during the journey! He was very patient when we arrived and the previous occupiers were still moving out, which was hugely appreciated! Would highly recommend.
    • Another glowing recommendation for Keith. We’re incredibly grateful to EDF for helping us find Keith - I had lots of other quotes from companies who were upselling the work we needed, whereas Keith was very friendly, honest, knowledgeable and competitively priced.  He was incredibly communicative through the whole job and carefully thought through his approach. He did lime mortar repointing along with some brick and masonry repairs, and did everything to a very high standard. We could absolutely trust his advice. He’s lovely to chat to and very respectful of neighbours, clearly communicating when there would be noise or mess. He organised the scaffolding company who were also excellent (Reliable Scaffolding). They worked around limited parking and were prompt to take down the scaffolding once the work was finished. The scaffolding was also much cheaper than other quotes.  Couldn’t recommend Keith enough, it’s a pleasure to have him working on the house and we already have him booked in to do another job for us.
    • If you mean the joinery firm that made windows and doors, it closed down several years ago and a private house was built on the site.
