Yes, please come along DulwichFox.

I have booked a table for 8 people for 20.30 hrs, slightly later to allow Mick Mac to down his usual scooner of sweet sherry before we head off.

So, 7.30ish at the Draft House and then off to Dulwich Tandoori for 8.30.

For the new people, we will be the rather shifty looking group, normally sat at the back of the bar, just before the stairs to the downstairs embibing area.

12 of us! Including DulwichFox, Seemster, Tillie Trotter and JedMk2 as newbies to Curry Club but Forumites of some standing all. Hibbs, MickMac, Allycat, Floating Onion, Sheila, Strafer Jack and Georgia were all present and correct.

A few drinkies at the Draft House, where I realised that we had a few more than I had expected.

Dulwich Tandoori did us proud, moved tables around and sat all together. The food was great, large welcoming salad, loads of poppadoms and some complementary drinks afterwards.

I took a doggie bag home to find that extra pops, rice and nan had been sneaked in by the generous restaurant folk.

All good and we will return soon.

Many thanks All!

And a big thank you to Foxy for sharing some of his magic with us.

Well that was a fun night! So nice to have big crowd there... really enjoyed it!

Well done to the Dulwich Tandoori for fitting us all in (even rearranging the "walls" - they did well!

Great food flavours, and enjoyed to food, even though my tikka masala was rather vivid in colour!

Thought the paratha was one of the best I've tasted - yummy!

And yes - the magic Fox was ace : )

Big thank you to Michael for organising last night..

Thanks to Dulwich Tandoori for some great food.

Met some lovely people and had a very pleasant evening..

Only regret is not having been to a curry evening before.

Will certainly be coming again.

See you all soon

Foxy

To think that Michael almost put the curry night into premature retirement only a few months ago, it has risen like a pheonix from the flaming backsides of madras loving EDFers.

Certainly think the decision to change to a Thursday evening was a winner. Its sort of ok to have a hangover at work on a Friday, isn't it?

    • Missing Cat! 11 months old/ Our friend, Coco, has gone missing. Last seen evening of 31st October near top of Henslowe rd where it meets Underhill Rd in SE22. We know she has started wandering up Friern Rd and further we guess but we imagine she has been spooked by Halloween / Fireworks goings on. She is a grey Siberian mix with some brown stripes down her, very friendly and likes to eat. Please let us know
    • That said, organised displays could be on Saturday before and after and the actual day, and private ones could just not have the loud ones.  It’s all down to accessibility and people caring/not caring
    • The problem this year is that 5th November falls on a Wednesday. So some places will be bringing their "bonfire night" forward to Saturday 1st and some will be knocking it back to Saturday 8th and there'll probably be a few that just go with Wednesday 5th anyway. If you're doing a public display, having it on a weekend gets more crowds. Which basically means a solid week of fireworks.
    • Fireworks in this area do feel totally incessant at this time of year, almost every evening there is terrible noise. I feel great concern for wildlife, pets (I have a senior cat who hates them), as well as people who struggle with PTSD etc. Last year I even had people setting them off in front of my home. Tonight and yesterday evening have been particularly bad. Is there anything we can do as a community to prevent this? What action can we take? Surely we shouldn’t be expected to just put up with it every year for weeks on end!
