Looking for a good personal trainer

Hi, I can highly recommend Simone Harvey (Mind over Matter Boxing) who is based in East Dulwich.

In addition to her boxing classes she also does personal training, both individual and in small groups. I've been going to her classes and PT for over two years and have really enjoyed it. She's super energetic and motivational but makes it fun too. My husband joined me about a year ago and we often do PT sessions together with Simone, either at home or locally. Great for the body and soul! (Even if the body may intially disagree)

Her number is 07910 230296 or check out reviews on Google

My husband and I also used Simone Harvey for training together. She?s really excellent - one of the things we like best is that she?s great at tailoring the session to our separate fitness / ability level so that we both get a good workout but also get to workout together. At one point through the training I was pregnant and she still worked both of us together to suit our varying needs!

Another vote for Simone at Mind Over Matter :) I started with individual PT sessions and loved it so much that I got my husband training with me too. Our training sessions with Simone quickly became a highlight of our week!! You will both get a great workout and seeing results both at the same time is really motivating too. 100% recommended!

    • Sadly The Palmerston has (imo) gone the same way. A gradual deterioration from the quirky charm it once had to a bland sort of corporate style and (imo) a horrid font for the pub name over the door outside  and terrible (imo) art inside (apologies if you are one of the artists, but I understand the art was shipped in by the pubco). Tastes differ, obviously, but it all sets my teeth on edge. In one of its incarnations, it used to have regularly  changing art displays by local artists. These  were much more interesting and engaging, and if one particular set were not to your personal taste, at least they weren't there permanently. I will still continue to go there, because the manager and the staff are lovely. The changes aren't their fault, and I'm sure the pub will do well, because - as with the EDT - it is presumably meeting what research has shown the present East Dulwich residents want. ETA: To be fair, some of the most recent changes have been an improvement, eg changing some of the  lighting to fit in better with its surroundings.
    • Re fit/sickness notes - it used to be that the patient would self certify themselves for the first week and then request a certificate from the GP.   If that’s not the case, when did it change?
    • Call ACE on:07565205844. I highly recommend ace garden service. My garden looks great. William and his colleague are superb with garden maintenance, lawns and hedges.
    • While I sympathise with the staff, I also wouldn't go out of my way to support H&B - they are far from being a local, independent and I see the investment company that owns it got in various tangles re one of its founders (Russia, sanctions etc). From shopping angle, I used to like them but in recent years (no idea if that coincided with ownership changes) I feel as a brand it's lost its USP and charm. And as per other discussions, would hope the likes of Healthmatters aren't negatively impacted in these really difficult retail times.  That's not me wishing they close forthwith, in case it reads that way, just highlighting they aren't the H&B I think they were back in the day.
