There's a bloke in my office who had an excuse of cough on Monday took yesterday off, is in today, and keeps putting on and taking off a jumper in a vain attempt to gain sympathy from the rest of the staff, by proclaiming loudly that he feels a fever coming on. He is known lovingly as "sicknote" by those who know him well.

People coming into work when they are quite obviously sick. How self-importantly obsessed with the urgency of your job do you have to be to put other people?s health at risk? My health is more important than anyone?s job (bar perhaps a paramedic or midwife or something along those lines). I will never understand how the suited millions have this deluded sense of their own importance.

Blimey Jah, there's a blast from the past. Good player, unfortunately spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch. Where is he now? I remember he was always known as a luxury player.

He's Bournemouth Captain, and he'll only be 36 next month, so not too old to play a bit at that level.

Aaaanyway, I've had enough of the crappy heating/air con in my office!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a fecking germ farm in here, and they have sealed all the bloody windows, I feel like I'm working in a plane.

If it's any consolation, my office is exactly the same!! And I've had enough of it, butthe I'd rather be in a job than out of one so I'm making the best of what I've got, and it ain't easy!!

poxy office work, management roles mostly, boring as feck but that, and owning/running my own businesses is all I know, the only trouble is I don't currently have enough dosh to open a business, which is far more rewarding.

... returned post with huge stickers over the address - how the hell is one meant to remove the person from the database when you don't know who they are! I'm aint no fooking mind reader! (6) soz I hurt my finger trying to peel the stickers off and am now grrr :-$

    • A lot of this is down to why the high street came into being in the first place  consumer demand  And now times has changed and consumers behave differently.  And businesses adapt to that.  It’s a bottom up approach as opposed to something imposed upon us.   It’s not to my tastes. But what do people expect to happen.  Jazzer is on to something when he says boycott Amazon - but the reality is even many who boycott Amazon choose other or more ethical alternatives. But still online  going into town for “a shop” just isn’t what people do anymore  Yeah but that’s not a real comparison. And “for ill” glosses over a lot of wrong as well  but we live in 2025 now and any of us oldies who think when we were 20 was the best time ever, a time we should go back to are just pining for our youths  there is no country in the world that can turn back the clock.  So in 2025, where is the closest vision of somewhere you would like.  Because if you look globally you don’t just get capitalism.  You can choose dictatorships or communism too
    • Kramer is great, met her a couple of times.  Told her the story of when she ran for Mayor and didn't attend a community event as she didn't want to spoil Ken (Livingstone)'s love in.  Amused me and her no doubt
