Gidget
Wondered if there was just one person writing their blurb or if it's an in-house style. That alone would put me off using them. El Pibe
"Fab front door"This has to be lacquered in irony surely.Lollipop sticks in your spokes are fab, space dust is fab, not a grey slate front door. *Bob*
So you two wouldn't sell through this agent, even if you had the type of property that they had the best track record in selling - because of the blurb? Or pass on TheHouseOfYourDreams? - for the same reason? You're nuthin' but a lotta talk an' a badge. Annette Curtain
Much like The Maudsley then:-SI'm down with W&S, as they got me a full asking price cash offer on my gaff (which I then turned down, as you do) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23509-estate-agents-are-unoriginal-morons-chapter-1/page/2/#findComment-546104 Share on other sites

stevie_son
If a Wooster & Stock description is winding you up, I think you have issues. It's what they do, like them or loathe them they certainly stand out from the crowd - as evidenced by this thread. The photographs make the house look great, it might not be your style but I've got more then hunch that most of the people throwing rocks in this thread are doing so from a (badly designed) glass house.*Shrugs*If I had that sorta coin, I'd book a viewing - at least it's different from the endless stream of Victorian conversions that are churned out. Loz
Hmmm, a bit thin-skinned on this on stevie_son. You wouldn't happen to have a connection with either W&S or the house vendor, would you? I just find it amusing that people have their panties in a twist because someone described a door as 'fab'.But it's sunny outside so I'm going to stop arguing about stuff on the internet :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23509-estate-agents-are-unoriginal-morons-chapter-1/page/2/#findComment-546645 Share on other sites

Saila
This thread was mildly amausing when it was slating estate agent's language but now seems to be openly criticising someone's home? They didn't ask for this?Feels a bit mean to meI think it's a lovely house - Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23509-estate-agents-are-unoriginal-morons-chapter-1/page/2/#findComment-546785 Share on other sites
tallulah71
well said...and no it's not my house, or my taste - but I even quite enjoyed the W&S description. They're a bit like Roy Brooks' descriptions - overtly verbose, but isn't that the point of selling, providing one can read words?... Someone will love it and good luck to them I say.
