bbrown
I went into the Somerfield on Lordship Lane on Tuesday to find some builders having a tea party! They were taking part in an event Somerfield were having ? they all looked very funny sipping tea and eating girly cherry bakewells ? not their usual bacon butties! Not many of them could tell the difference between Tetley tea and Somerfield?s own red label tea or Heinz baked beans and Somerfield?s own brand baked beans ? I thought that was a bit strange based on the difference in price as Somerfield?s own products are a lot cheaper than other brands! Did anyone else witness this hilarious spectacle? Good on Somerfield for letting the beefcakes take part ? it brightened up my day! dulwichmum
Why would you find it funny that us builders enjoy the finer things. I love a large slice of Battenberg with my Earl Grey personally... SeanMacGabhann
I love it when normal, hum-drum experiences take a weird turnI was in Finsbury Square near Moorgate one summer's lunchtime with hundreds of other people when 3 page3 types started wandering by, actually topless, for some promotional thing...And welcome to the forum bbrown - don't forget to say hello Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2357-builders-tea-party/#findComment-68952 Share on other sites
Keef
I was in Camden market once (approx 2001), when a shit load of naked people started walking sown the street shouting. It turns out that it was an anti fur / leather campaign. Not sure if they got the message across, but certainly made the market turn round and watch! Cassius
Saw the naked cyclists last summer - very brave (although not all were strictly naked) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2357-builders-tea-party/#findComment-69082 Share on other sites
Jennys
Last year I saw a naked man striding down Denmark Hill near King's, carrying his shoes (but no clothes). Was quite crowded but nobody batted an eyelid. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2357-builders-tea-party/#findComment-69108 Share on other sites

EDmummy
I wonder if the builders tea party had anything to do with Somerfield's sponsorship of Macmillan Cancer Support. Bit early for World's Biggest Coffee Morning but sounds like something they may do. Somerfields have just supported Macmillan to the tune of ?1 million. Great for people affected by cancer!
