As people are still posting recommendations, I'd hate the forum not to see mine:

My experience with Daniel from Dulwich Plumbing and Heating 07879 220447 and 07852 757 654 is so far negative:

3 Sep I have a drip from hot water pipe. He comes out same-day. He tells me the fee is not per-hour but per-job (i.e. I can't get him to do any other work for the fee.) The job is said by me as "fix the drip". He puts plumbers tape on a nut. I pay him. Later that day, I notice that the drip is in no way improved and text him. He agrees to come at a certain time the next day.

4 Sep After the appointment time (I've already taken trouble to be in) he texts to say he won't come and can he come tomorrow. We arrange for another time the next day

5 Sep Again I take trouble to be in. He doesn't show, doesn't text, doesn't answer various calls, doesn't answer my text asking what's happened to appointment

6 Sep He answers a call (I used the other number) and says he can't come today, and will call me in the morning of the next day.

7 Sep He doesn't call in the morning. He rejects a call just after the morning, texting that he is stuck on a job. I text back trying to arrange an appointment. I receive "Ok I'll text you later".

9 Sep I again text trying to arrange an appointment but no reply.

18 Sep I notice that during Daniel's visit, valves which had no bearing on my problem and thus no need to be touched have been forced, causing them to drip and need further repairs.

I state only facts above. Please draw your own conclusions about the behaviour.

You seem to be questioning the validity of my positive feedback about Daniel, which is why I'm responding.

As you're on the same page as my recommendation, it seems likely that people would see both if they are checking Daniel out! I read your posting before calling him.

This forum is great in terms of enabling people to read the experiences of others when they are trying to find someone local for work they need doing. The majority of companies/businesses/trades people will get some negative comments along the way. As I did, people will weigh these up with other positive comments.

No one review is the most important. Caveat emptor and all that.

After taking brief details of our boiler problem Daniel advised he'd be able to come round in a couple of hours, & arrived as advised. He fixed the problem & was really helpful - advising what we can do to fix it ourselves if a couple of the issues happen again. I'm happy to recommend, & we plan to refer to him again for future problems/servicing etc.

Another recommendation for Daniel and his team! We've had two jobs done this week and they came exactly when they said they would and were friendly and efficient.

I would not recommend using Daniel. I have had to pay a second plumber to come and fix the poor job he did.

Having searched the recommendations on the East Dulwich Forum I contacted Daniel to come and replace two radiators. He came round very quickly and replaced them both and I paid him in cash in full. The next day when I got home from work both radiators had been leaking. He came round and said he could fix them but wanted more money. We agreed a price but he said he couldn't do it right away but would come back in a couple of days. We arranged a time and I waited in but he didn't arrive. This then continued to happen multiple times over the next three weeks. Everytime we arranged an appointment he wouldn't show up and would either text later saying he'd come tomorrow or would just ignore my texts or calls.

In the end I had to get another plumber to come and fix them and pay again for the job to be done properly.

I used Daniel to fix our washing machine and burst pipe. The job was done quickly and efficiently. Will be definitely be using him again. Highly recommended and friendly service

Daniel from Dulwich plumbing and heating has been brilliant! He sorted out my problems with my washing machine and was freindly and helpful. It i often difficult to know who to trust , in terms of plumbing repairs but i will definatly be using his services again and i recommend him now to others. thanks Dan!

Blocked toilet - 3 small children and a Halloween party so another 6 arriving in the afternoon. Called Daniel at 8am with us by 1030 and all sorted - phew! Daniel was courteous, efficient, kind to curious 3year old and I would recommend and call on Daniel again.

After telling my son off for aiming badly for, er, about a week, I finally sussed that our toilet had a leak. Found Daniel's details on the forum, called Monday morning and he was able to come round about three hours later. He had brought the relevant parts with him and was able to fix the leak quickly and effectively. The job, including parts, cost less in total than what we paid for just the call-out fee from one of the bigger companies. Very happy and would use him again.

Called Daniel this morning to help with a leaking radiator. He came over within the hour and not only fixed the radiator but bled all of them (and showed me how to do it myself in the future). Couldn't have been happier, he was really friendly and efficient and I will definitely use him again!

Would definitely reccommend Dulwich Plumbing and Heating. We called with a suspected leak on a Sunday morning and within the hour Daniel had visited to investigate the problem. He resolved the issue, and while at the property also took time to correct the boiler water pressure and bleed the radiators.

Work was clearly explained and pricing was competitive - friendly and approachable.

I called Dulwich Plumbing and Heating for a leaking pipe. I was reading this thread and wondering but I must say I'm very glad I did call. Contacted them Sunday around 10am and had the plumber (Daniel) within the hour. Provided a free quote (no call out charge) and priced his work on the repair which was very reasonable. He was thorough in his assessment and fix of the issue.

Highly recommend them - friendly, efficient and contactable!

My experience with Daniel and his team has been extremely negative.

The only positive thing about him was that he came fast. The job itself caused a greater disaster than was in the first place and despite my numerous calls asking him to fix the trouble, I haven't seen him again.

He quoted us on spot, but changed his mind and asked for more; he wanted the money before finishing the job.

The job itself (done by his team) caused a massive mess in the bathroom and instead of fixing a leaking problem it just increased it.

As the work was done on Friday evening, at the office, with nobody coming by during the week-end, it was only on Monday morning that I realised the disaster. The bathroom was all rust and mud from the pipe, walls all wet, water infiltrated in the carpet next door. I called him straight away and he said he would call the guys and get the problem fixed. No return call. I called him back over and over, he said they would be at my office in 3 hours but they didn't come. I texted and called again and again, he said he would come in the evening (after I had left office), then the next morning, but not a sight of him.

I was naive enough to ask him for an invoice before the job, he said he would provide one, but now I think it was just a joke.

Note to self and to others interested: WATER SAFE say on their website that over 60% of people are victims of cowboy plumbers, like myself. They provide a list of approved plumbers - www.watersafe.org.uk. I will check this next time. Needless to say Daniel's name wasn't there.
