xxxxxxx

Not if, like me, you get your hair washed in stone cold water and then cut by a trainee who has never done a bob before. Plus it all took hours.

I'd rather pay thanks!

Hi guys

As I'm such a nice person I thought I'd share this link with you ! ;-)

The deal is for:

Men's Haircut (?15), or Ladies' Haircut and Blow Dry (?18), with Half-Head of Foils (?35)

at Willis B on Lordship Lane

I bought the women's haircut and blow dry yesterday, think it's a bit of a bargain, especially as I have such ridiculously long hair!

I was going to buy the men's haircut for my son, but I think Headnizm do a haircut for men for about the same price so it's not really worth it... Willis B seems a more upmarket salon?

Oh and tomorrow is the last day of the deal so I'd get in quickly!

I have been living in Dulwich for 15 years and spent the first 2 years traveling 125 miles to get me haircut and colored, then decided to give the Hairdressers in Dulwich a try. Went to Village Way but they put me off when the stylist left and they just put me in with somebody else without asking me if this was ok. Went to Willis B - Just plain rude. Partridges didn't care who you were or what you wanted. Have now defected to town and have the best hairdresser with awesome service. I think they have the best customer service ever!! They could easily teach others and over ?100 cheaper! they work late nights and all I have to do is jump on the bus to get there.
Village way hairdressers do not charge anything like the prices you posted .Do your homework properly next time and don't try to give eastdulwich hairdressers such a bad name.We have been here for over 20 years and have always provided affordable prices for the community of east dulwich.
I didn't name which hairdresser charged me that much. But my last hairdressing bill in Dulwich was ?185 for a cut and colour 5 years ago. My last bill from my current hairdresser was ?95. I try and support local buisness all the time even if it cheaper for me to buy from chains or get big companys to building work for us we always ask local buisness to quote for work. They are normally more expensive but we go with them to support the local economy. What you failed to pick up on was the comment about poor customer service that I recevied and the lack of customer service. I don't mind paying extra if I get good service.

Shame quality and price don't go together though. no not looking for an argument it is simply an observation over the last 20 plus years you have been in business.

As I've said in the past prices in ED are incredibly high for the service given. One would expect a hairdresser to be able to do a decent job regardless of the price being charged. No?

What is the quality you're asking for, the haircuts ,colour ,your Service. it's obvious you can't please everybody from your post. if you had a problem with this salon it would be better to come in and speak to the manager rather than air your moans on here

The moans are in general aimed at the high end salons in ed that are charging nearly as much if not MORE than some high end west end salons that have such high levels of customer service, high award winning standards of cutting and colouring and truly great professional customer service... I just think its robbery charging the same or near prices when offering nowhere near the levels of service... And by looks of things MANY agree with me... I myself am mobile when I'm home from the ships but was thinking about opening a salon but feel it would be very hard with so many local salons.

this moan is not aimed at the budget/ cheap end of the market in ed but the high end who prize themselves on being the best and according to their prices also thinking they are in the west end or even on the same level when they are not.

Cost me ?168 to have half head highlights and cut in GM's last week. I love my hairdresser but not that much. After 5 years of going there I've decided to stop now as that's just daylight robbery. It just makes me feel they are being too greedy now as much as I like going there.
  • 4 weeks later...

Where are Headmasters near here?

The salon Lawler Steel in West Dulwich nr. Cafe Rouge charges ?95 for a half head of highlights with the owner. Full head ?135. The haircuts with her are ?65.

Think they were raved about when they opened but those prices are eye-watering.

They did have some good offers on, but no longer.

Edited to put correct prices.

Balham (train from forest hill), Clapham South (you can get the 37 to clapham common and walk down, or train to clapham high street from denmark hill/peckham rye and bus it down the high street), Clapham Common or Bromley are probably the easiest to reach from the various parts of ED.

Am considering them again, but they no longer have any offers on.

    • From the school newsletter:   A New Name for Dog Kennel Hill As you know we have been discussing and consulting with stakeholders about a  name change at DKH for a while. Following engagement with staff, pupils and  families, we gathered all views on a name change for the school and after  careful consideration of the feedback, the Local Committee and the Trust have  agreed with changing the school name to Grove Primary School from  September 2025.  Over the next few months we will begin a gradual process of changing our  name on signage, our website and emails etc. We will keep you updated.  We will be looking at designing a new logo to match the new school name and  will be working closely with a graphic designer to get creative. The school  council will be actively involved in this process. We will share the results with  you as soon as a design has been agreed and confirmed. We will be creating a  new school jumper to replace the old one, once the logo has been finalised. However, as a school  we think it will be a positive change for our school community and we will  work together to ensure that the ethos and culture of DKH will remain!
