Hi all

Over the last few weeks I have spotted a few small (abouy 3.5 inches long) lizard, gheko type things, in my garden at the top of Sydenham Hill. I have seen similar creatures in warmer climates like the Med and North Africa. The lizards are a pale yellowish brown.

Has anyone else seen these?

Nic

Hi Nic,

YES! I found one in my hallway a few weeks back.

Definitely not a newt.

It was about the size of my palm, and very quick and strong (I had to put it in a tupperware container in order to release it outside). It was brown, with some lighter flecks. I'm glad they're living elsewhere as it means mine wasn't someone's pet.

    • Well, the tenant might care if there's a possibility of getting a refund of around £36,000 in rent. And the letting agent might care if they have to shell out that amount.

    • Another TSG van on blues and twos just shot down Underhill, passing my house at 15:30 hrs. Which suggests this residential street is now an accepted emergency route to the South Circular. Which it never used to be. And which I'm guessing reflects a change in road usage which is likely to have been influenced by other recent road changes locally. But I'm sure life is much quieter now in other roads, so lucky them. But their quietness shouldn't be seen, in my view, as being a universal benefit to the area.
