nic32
Hi allOver the last few weeks I have spotted a few small (abouy 3.5 inches long) lizard, gheko type things, in my garden at the top of Sydenham Hill. I have seen similar creatures in warmer climates like the Med and North Africa. The lizards are a pale yellowish brown.Has anyone else seen these?Nic Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24473-lizards-in-my-garden/ Share on other sites

KidKruger
If there's water nearby (ie. pond) they may be newts.http://www.herpetofauna.co.uk/identification.asp Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24473-lizards-in-my-garden/#findComment-560049 Share on other sites

smallblue
Hi Nic,YES! I found one in my hallway a few weeks back. Definitely not a newt. It was about the size of my palm, and very quick and strong (I had to put it in a tupperware container in order to release it outside). It was brown, with some lighter flecks. I'm glad they're living elsewhere as it means mine wasn't someone's pet. DJKillaQueen
Is it one of these? They are common in the UK and the recent humid wet weather would be very appealing to them.http://w.openphoto.org/projects/wetland/20061018/viviparous_lizard_sunIt's called a Viviparous or Common Lizard.
