Definitely the other hairdressers on Melbourne Grove (across from the ice cream shop). Jenny cuts both my boys hair, is extremely good with children and gives a great cut. She charges ?8 but I always give her ?10 because she is so good.
Have you though about doing it yourself? After paying ?10 like a fool for the lady at Little Clippers to spend 2 minutes lunging at my 7-month-old (he has a lot of hair!) with scissors only to result in a terrible cut, I decided I couldn't do a worse job myself. I've done it twice now and it was easy and he looks great.

We go to the barber/hairdresser beside the post office on Forest Hill Road (near the Co-Op, at the end of Dunstans). It was ?11 for my son but she spent ages cutting and layering (he has loads of very thick, straight hair) and did a great job.

We had a serious mullet-tastic experience at Jazz on Lordship Lane but I think that was probably because of my bad instructions!

Hello,

Rang GMs for an appointment for tomorrow, they said ?10 for my 3yo boy and ?14 for my 5yo girl...!

Can anyone help - what's the name of the other hairdresser on Melbourne Grove, the one opposite the ice cream shop? I'll give them a ring and see if any cheaper.

Thanks

Claire

    • I'm interested to know why you say that? They both sell the same kind of thing, they both have own brand products, and unless I've got it completely wrong, they both seem to be trying to attract the same kind of customer? I would have thought a Waitrose and an M&S so close to each other would have split the customer base (?not sure of the correct term) for both of them? People might shop in both, but I'd have thought each store would still lose out on sales?
    • I thought of going to the States for the World Cup.  But I just can't - Trump, the nonsense of entering the States and what UEFA has done to the sport including enlarging the competition and selling out to Gulf/Middle East States has put me off. I found an article on the likely move of some European football overseas which prompted me to start the thread https://thefsa.org.uk/news/uefa-gives-go-ahead-for-overseas-competitive-fixtures/
    • Unfortunately we can see from the history of the Israel -Palestine situation that a peace accord now won't necessarily lead to long-term peace and statehood for the Palestinians. This has been going on for decades, ever since the Palestine authority gave refugee status to Jews fleeing the Nazis in the 1930s and 1940s. Britain has a shameful role in handing the problem on to the League of Nations and since then the world has watched on and done nothing or very little.
