Annette Curtain
Mitt Romney's wife has/had a horse competing in the OlympicsWhodda known that ?Anyway, you know Mitt, he's the guy who only takes his foot out of his mouth to speakYeah him "I wanna be President Mitt"(in between inciting a new middle-east-type-war-conflagration) http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/olympics/news/mitt-romneys-missus-ann-cheers-her-1m-tapdancing-wonder-horse-8002321.htmlhttp://atlantablackstar.com/2012/07/26/in-comments-about-his-wifes-horse-romney-shows-why-americans-just-dont-like-him/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24725-huzzah-for-the-olympics/page/9/#findComment-566124 Share on other sites
*Bob*
The sight of the preening, primping, posing sprinters - mugging for the cameras - has been my least favourite so far. At least it's all over quickly and they're off the screen asap. Otta
Yeah, there is something horribly macho about the 100m.Love the fact that Kenya have a bloke awaiting trial for a stabbing (which he may or may not have done) but they let him go to the Olympics, because he'll win a medal. Class. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24725-huzzah-for-the-olympics/page/9/#findComment-566165 Share on other sites
red devil
Not too disimilar to the John Terry situation at the Euro's, except there wasn't much chance of Terry becoming a winner :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24725-huzzah-for-the-olympics/page/9/#findComment-566167 Share on other sites

Who cares what they do on camera - it all adds to the build up and it's probably because they are as nervous as hell. I enjoyed watching Bolt and Blake after the race larking about on camera and interacting with the crowds, especially when Bolt did his trademark pose with the 2012 mini mascot! *Bob*
I've seen so many people from all over the world win their events and often felt all lip-trembly and even a bit blubby (shh.. don't tell anyone). It's an exciting event, but after the 100m I felt nothing.Worse than that, it was an unwelcome reminder that Sport + Fortune + Fame more often than not = act like a bit of a cock (See 'football'). El Pibe
I had a poo during the 100 metres.I'm pretty sure I didn't miss much.Hat's off to Murray yesterday though. Michael Palaeologus
Perhaps, but having a poo "during" the 100 metres is impressive. That implies that El Pibe had time to leave the room, enter the loo, drop his slacks, drop the load, use the loo paper (one up, one down and one to polish) and re-enter the room, all within the period of the race.Like I said, impressive. *Bob*
I doubt if Bolt would be able to curl one down that quickly. Which begs the question: who is really the fastest man on earth? Bolt or Pibe? El Pibe
If we're doing too much information, we've had a pretty nasty bug (the both ends type) rip through the whole family, so truth be told I was pretty fortunate that it was just the race and not the toilet bowl I missed. maxxi
My favourite is the 10m platform dive - once you're committed there's no going back but done properly there's very little splash and you get added points for the degree of difficulty.
