I tried to get him any tickets for the olympic stadium events and at every turn the system fails showing tickets which are not really there.

I thought he was kidding as he's not IT savy..

If I was responsible for any part of that site I'd probably never get another contract.

Yet those muppets are probably in a job for life.

Shocking bit of scrip and shocking execution...

I've had this message every time......"........!

No tickets found

Sorry, no exact matches were found.

If you would like to amend your search, you will need to remove the session(s) you have requested from your shopping list. Then you can try one or more of the following options:

Reduce the number of tickets requested per session

Change the price category

Select another sport or session

KidKruger...the only way is to get another user to order tickets for the same event and of course there is no guarantee at this stage that you will both be successful nor will you sit together. We wanted 7 tickets and were fortunate enough to get them in the final priority ballot...you know the one for those that didn't get any in rounds 1, 2 and goodness knows how many others! We could only purchase 4 initially until they went on general sale, we then bought an additional 3 for the same event and we are sitting together, but don't ask me how that happened!

In short the website is shite.

Looks like it was written by a teenager with a brief to upset as many users as possible and just spew out what it fancies when it fancies if it fancies .

I tried for my mate for a couple of hrs enough time wasted IMO ...

Complete garbage.

Really really disgraceful example of thick client software connected to a shabby thin client front end.

Pot luck on getting a ticket you log on and keep your fingers crossed you've logged on at the right millisecond sounds about right.

A complete shocker I just feel sorry for everyone who tried for tickets and got nothing and think of all those who tried for tickets and got loads. No balance in how it worked.

I guess if people were organised were all on there while families working like maniacs logging on to get as many tickets as they could and they probably got plenty.

As for my mate a single dad who works all day no where near a PC well he had no chance....

Genius system for the seller though.

Lots of empty seats apparent every time I have a look at the gymnastics... How odd....

Reserving tickets

Please wait while we check that the tickets you have requested are still available. Your estimated wait time is less than 3 minutes.

We can only search for the tickets you have requested now that you have clicked Request tickets.

If they are still available, they will now be reserved for you.

It IS crap in the way it indicates tickets are available then says "No" at payment.

However....I managed to get 2 good tickets on it yesterday afternoon to the womens soccer gold medal game at Wembley on Thurs night. Not a prime event granted but sold out last week. And if the unthinkable happens and Canada beat the US champs tonight the missus will love it.

Secondly, I'm reliably informed of the time that all new tickets are added to the system is approx 11.30 - 12 midnight which explains the above.

Worth a try later tonight?

Nope - they get added throughout the day now and it's just luck if you happen to refresh at that precise moment (and are already logged into the site so don't waste time with the silly Captcha). I know a few people who have got tickets in the last week; sadly I'm not one of them. I'm one of the lucky ones - I got a few yes's from the website in June so have a few events to go to. But I've still had more 'Nos' than 'Yes' and my events are of the 'not shown on mainstream TV' for the most part! Still... I've had a ball at them all so far!
I think part of the reason the tickets go so quickly, once released, is that you can also queue up at the Olympic site for returns and new releases. There was a one hour queue we saw this morning but it was moving occasionally. Faced with people who can take tickets in real time, not sure those on web have much of a chance.

I see someone on the forum has a couple of tickets going at face value. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?28,931170,935529#msg-935529

I caught the last twenty minutes of each of the semi-finals. Disappointed that France didn't have enough finishing skills. I still prefer them to both of the finalists, even if I do admit that they merited their places.

There are just too many people trying and the site isn't quick enough to update when the tickets are gone

even if you are able to 'select' tickets for an event, there will also be thousands of other people doing likewise and it's luck of the draw who gets them

it's been heartbreakingly frustrating for me, I'd give anything to go there and soak up the atmosphere!

someone set up a twitter feed for when tickets come available... they shut him down last week but he was able to drum up enough public support for them to allow non-website access to the ticketing site. I know his updates have helped many people find tickets... I've just unfortunately not been on of those people :'-(

ahh well

Dealing with live financial systems where the number of computations and orders are enormous, by a massive factor far larger and far more complex than the Olympic ticket site.

They apparently have the correct hardware but the programmers didn?t do a good job.

Bless em they only had 5 years. hehehehe

    • In just two days, we’ll take to the streets to show Donald Trump that he and his politics are not welcome here. On Saturday the global far-right mobilised their biggest protest for decades. We want to show that supporters of Trump and fascism are not the majority – far from it. Here are all the details you need for the day. The march assembles at Portland Place, near the BBC, at 2pm (see assembly blocs below). After speeches here, the march will move off at 3pm. It will then march down Regent St, through Piccadilly Circus, on Whitehall (past Downing St) to our rally at Parliament Square. The rally at Parliament Square will begin around 5pm and finish at 7pm. If you can’t make it to the march, feel free to join the rally after work! (Nearest tube: Westminster). The short, accessible version of the route assembles at the top of Whitehall (SW1A 2DY) at 4.30pm to march to Parliament Square for 5pm. You may also prefer to just join the rally directly at Parliament Square.  Join a bloc – and make friends! Our movement is diverse, and various elements are forming ‘blocs’ on the march to emphasise their visual presence collectively. You can join these blocs or form up behind them:   A) Palestine, near BBC, W1A 1AA B) Climate, W1B 1NS C) Amnesty, around junction with New Cavendish St, W1B 1LU D) Migrants' rights, W1B 1LS E) Jewish bloc, W1B 1QQ F) Ukraine, around junction with Weymouth St, W1B 1JL G) Europe, W1B 1NR More stewards still needed Stewards are a crucial part of keeping the protest safe for everyone to participate. They are a visible point of contact for attendees who may need directions or other assistance. Experience of stewarding is useful but it's also fine if you haven't done it before. You will be issued with a hi-vis jacket and briefed in advance and on the day.  Sign up to be a steward Staying comfortable on the day The demonstration lasts for several hours, so we suggest you should:     Bring a bottle of water and snacks (and eat beforehand)     Charge your phone fully the night before, and bring a portable charger if you can     Go to the loo beforehand (really!)     Buddy up with someone, or stick together as a group – it can be hard to find people easily if people wander off     Coming alone? Protests can be a great place to meet like-minded people. If you feel unsure, you can always talk to a steward     Consider the weather: bring a waterproof jacket or wear suncream where necessary     Wear comfortable clothes and footwear, and use our accessible route if you need to (see above) Bring your friends and family on Wednesday. Let’s make this massive! In solidarity, Stop Trump Coalition
