Heard yesterday the rather sad news that this is closing on Sat. Good people who will be missed.

A shame, they're one of the better newsagents down that end of LL. Red Apple News opposite the library is still going and they provide an outstanding service, including paper delivery.

They were trying to sublet some space to a Subway counter last year, presumably to offset the crippling rents some businesses now face. Used them many times, will be sorry to lose them.

Not surprised, terrible and rude service. Couldn't even understand the services they were providing.

I've given them many chance, but gave up about 6 months ago.

Yeah weak customer service there, but at least they don?t pretend to give a shit.

I think they own the building (so possibly not a rent issue), I think the owner Patel fitted-out some flats upstairs a coupla years ago.

Having trouble understanding what has ever been so terrible about this particular newsagents. Never had a problem with them at all.

Ah. Is this the place who wouldn't take in my parcel in the afternoon, despite having no notices up to say so, and made me lug a really heavy and bulky parcel all the way to Barry Road despite the fact they could see I was practically in tears?

Never had any issues with Kaival then, and sorry they are closing.

I stopped going in there years ago, the old er woman was always so rude and usually on the phone whilst attempting to serve at the same time. Always got cross if you showed any frustration. Won't miss them at all!

Use this place a lot - never anything but good and friendly service. Lot of gaps on the Lane now it seems

There's a notice on the door saying they have moved to Greenwich.

Edited to say it's Hindwoods I am referring to!

I hope whoever moves in will keep the lovely old things at the sides of the door (don't know what they are called!)
